Bench grinder:

1) Describe the machine, mention its uses, how its anchorage is, draw the constituent parts.
What are the security recommendations.

The grinding machine is a small machine weighing about 6 or 7 kg.

which is mounted on a workbench and is used for sharpening tools (drills,
chisels, lathe blades, screwdrivers, gravers, chisels, etc.) and for removing burrs from
small pieces.

Polishing and shining of metals.

Remove burrs from machined parts.

Rough machining of metal parts.

Sharpen cutting tools

Cleaning of welds.

Safety recommendations

Put on all the recommended PPE for the position

Understand the operation of the machine and the limitations reported by the manufacturer
in the instruction manual.
Do not use unbalanced wheels.
The support brackets for the piece to be machined should be as close as possible to the
molar and situated at the height of its axis of rotation

Check the status of the machine's plug and cable. In case of detection
Defects, do not use the equipment until it is repaired.
Preferably wear work clothes with long sleeves and fitted cuffs.
Do not wear necklaces, bracelets, or watches.

Calculation of RPM of a grinding wheel:

2) Calculate the RPM of grinding wheels for the following conditions:

2.1) Vp, velocidad de corte 295275 (pulgadas / minuto), diámetro 40 pulgadas

5512 inches/second
3) What is the composition of the grinding wheels, mention and draw the specifications of them.
label of grinding stones or abrasive wheels.

The composition mainly consists of abrasive grains and bonding alloys.

For the label, there are 5 basic symbols.

The first is a letter that indicates the type of abrasive of the wheel.

The second is a number to indicate the approximate size of the abrasive; it is known as
grain size.

The third is a literal symbol that indicates the degree or relative hardness of the wheel.

The fourth is a structure, which is a number that describes the spacing or separation between.
abrasive grains.
And the fifth is a letter that indicates the agglutinant, or the material that keeps the particles together.
of abrasive, forming the wheel.

4) What is an abrasive, mention its uses, types, and applications

5) What is a grinding wheel or grinding stone, mention the abrasive grains and their applications.
