1. THEME:
Circuits with timer relays
2.OBJECTIVE:
Design the command and control diagram of an electric circuit for
the different proposed exercises

3.METHODOLOGY
The proposed methodology for the literature review can be
applied to any research topic to determine relevance
the importance of this and ensuring the originality of a research study.

In addition, it allows other researchers to consult the sources.

cited bibliographies, being able to understand and perhaps continue the work
completed. The proposed methodology consists of three phases:

Information search
For the bibliographic research process, it is necessary to have
informative material such as books, popular science magazines or
scientific research, websites and other necessary information
to start the search.
2. Organization of information
This phase is of great importance in every project
research involves systematically organizing the
documentation found
3. Analysis of the information
The third phase is to analyze the already organized information, investigating

about which are the most useful documents for the topic in
study.
The analysis of information is the task that takes the most time in the
bibliographic research, as it aims to identify the
contribution to be made. In this phase, critical thinking must be employed.
and must be carried out in parallel with the first, since it is a
constant process.

4. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK.
4.1. Definition
According to the book titled Automatismos [ CITATION Dur09 12298 ]
electric or industrial states that timers, also
known as Timer Relays, are those that allow you to adjust the
connection and disconnection times of an electrical circuit.

According to (Castro, 2014) a timer is a device through which,

we can regulate the connection or disconnection of an electrical circuit
some time has passed since that order was given.

The time that these timer relays operate can range from
milliseconds to hours.

4.2. Types of timer relays

The Durán book also indicates that there are basically two types of
timer relays which are as follows:

Electronic timers: The operation of this type of relay is

it is done using hybrid relays. They contain a small circuit inside.
electronic device that controls the connection and disconnection of the coil

by means of a programming, generally through a button

rotary device known as a potentiometer, of the delay time
of connection or disconnection.

Pneumatic timers: The operation of this type of

relay is possible thanks to a pneumatic system, made up of a
air chamber and a membrane that allows for timing
through a mechanical rotary system.
Illustration 2 - Image of a Pneumatic Timer.
This type of relays is very helpful in automatic installations since
they allow flexibility in automation concerning relays
conventional.

4.3. Operation:
According to the website [ CITATION Ing19 l 12298 ] it states that the
Timers according to their operation are:

Of connection: Also known as On Delay, the

operation of this type of timer receives a pulse from
activation and consequently the time begins to run
programmed, once that time is fulfilled it is activated or
Deactivate contacts as appropriate.

Disconnection: Known also as Off Delay, they work by
reverse manner because the pulse has to be always
active and when for some reason the signal is interrupted, the
The timer starts counting the programmed time,
when the time is up, the contact change is made.

Of pulse: The operation of this timer can be
determine as one with memory since just receiving a
small momentary pulse regardless of its length
activate the scheduled time. To repeat the cycle again of
activation needs to resend the activation signal.

6. CONCLUSIONS
The corresponding definitions have been established with
the elements used in the circuits achieving understanding
the elements of this, which allows us to have in a way
clearer to learn how valves work
directionals, actuator cylinders, pressure gauges,
among others. Taking into account their correct connections and their

uses within such systems.

Thanks to the software provided by the teacher, it was possible to carry out.

the different circuits in a much more educational way and

comprehensive.
7.RECOMMENDATIONS
Review the CADe SIMU program manual to understand
the different symbolisms, the components and their
functioning.
At the time of making the circuit connections
Electricians should take into account that the pins of the cables are in

optimal conditions to prevent shorts

circuits.
