Reading Contract
Reading Contract
The contract is a text, usually written, that establishes mutual consensus between two or more.
individuals or entities, in which each party submits to certain obligations and enjoys
certain rights. In case of non-compliance, it will serve as legal assurance to the injured party.
Although it can never exceed the law, there is the principle of contractual freedom, that is, each one
the grantors have the freedom to establish the conditions of the contract.
o use of clear, objective, and denotative vocabulary (to enable the correct interpretation of
clauses);
resort to specific words or expressions (grantor, contracting party, contractor, clause, term,
celebration, compliance/non-compliance...)
o phrasing construction in the third person singular or plural (depending on the number of grantors)
of the contract).
Contract structure
o Opening (denomination of the type of contract and identification of the involved parties, that is, of
grantors);
o Closing (place and date where the contract was signed and signatures of the grantors duly
recognized).
