5th Grade Computation Worksheets

This document presents a series of exercises on the use of Access to create relational databases. Students will learn to create tables, apply relationships between them, enter data, generate forms and reports, and develop macros. The final exercise integrates these concepts by importing data from Excel and creating a database with advanced functionalities such as filters, conditional messages, and a user menu.

Exercises 1, 2, and 3
1) Open the ARTICLES table, and fill in 6 or 7 records.
a. • For the prices indicate various quantities between 100 and 500 (this will be useful for
some of the subsequent exercises).
b. • Suggestion: make up the data, but use consecutive numbers for the
CODARTIC field, to facilitate data entry later
ORDERS. 2)

2) Open the ZONES table and fill in 4 records. • Suggestion: North, South, East, and
West

3) Open the CLIENTS table and fill in at least 10 records.

a. • It is not necessary to fill out all fields, but it must necessarily
fill in CODCLIENTE, NOMBRECLI, CODPOSTAL, POBLACION, DISCOUNT and
ZONAVENTAS, as we will use this data later.
b. • In the ZONAVENTAS field, use only data that you have inserted in the
field ZONE of the table ZONES.
c. • Several clients must be from Barcelona and Madrid.
d. • Suggestion: invent the data, but use consecutive numbers for the
field CODCLIENTE, to make data entry easier later on
ORDERS. Note how the properties of fields that we have defined,
determine the behavior of Access when entering postal codes (mask)
and discounts (validation rule); also note what happens when you try
omit ZONAVENTAS in any record (required). Note how the names of
the fields differ from those of the columns in those fields for which they

There are three types of table relationships in Access.
A one-to-many relationship. Let's use a database of
order tracking that includes a Customers table and an Orders table
A many-to-many relationship.
A one-to-one relationship.

Exercise 1
Carry out the following example of relationships in Access.

One to one: a relationship in which ONE record from a table is related to ONE unique record from
another table.Example:

In this example, a record from the Students table is related to a single record from the

related to SEVERAL records from the other.
Example:

In this example
a record from the Customers table is related to several records from the Orders table.
Many to many: a relationship in which ONE record of a table is related to MANY
records of the other and vice versa (it would be like the previous relationship, but read in both
