Objective:

The purpose of this document is to clearly and simply inform about the
steps to follow for upgrading the firmware of Polycom VVX-310, 410 series devices
510, SoundStation 7000 and 6000, SoundPoint IP331 and 335, as well as WEB configuration
of the telephone equipment for their registration on the Broadsoft platform.

Team and Software

To carry out this task it is necessary to have software previously installed on the PC.
The laptop that they will use, which functions as a DHCP and TFTP server, is recommended.

As for the equipment, it is recommended to have a switch, preferably PoE or alternatively

Download the firmware corresponding to the equipment model to a folder on the PC.
Update. For the VVX series devices, the version tested by Broadsoft Operations is 5.7.0;
For the SoundStation and SoundPoint devices, the Boot version is 4.1.0, for the IP6000 and
The IP7000 firmware is version 4.0.14 and for the IP331, IP335 the firmware version is 4.1.1.

Note: For the SoundStation and SoundPoint devices, it is necessary to first load the version of
Boot and then load the Firmware, this does not apply to the VVX series.

Procedure
1.- Connect via a UTP cable an Eth. port of the switch to the network port of the PC or Laptop

The phone will restart and search for the TFTP server to load the new firmware.

In the TFTPd32 software, in the DHCP option, the addresses that have been assigned will appear to
the different devices according to their MAC address. It will also show the
progress of the transfer of the new firmware to the phone as shown below.
Once the new firmware finishes loading, the device will restart and display its screen of
default start.

To verify that the firmware change was successfully made on the device, follow the
next steps.

➢ Select the Home key on the phone.


➢ Select the Settings option.
➢ Select option Status.
➢ Select option Platform.
➢ Select option Application.
➢ Select the Main option.

The information about the new firmware version that was uploaded to the device will be displayed.

Notes:

For the IP6000 and IP7000 teams, it is necessary to load two files, the first is the boot and the

Web configuration

Having the phone and the PC connected to the switch, check on the TFTPd32 screen which IP is assigned to it.

In the DHCP option, change the Boot Server option to Static.
