THE SERVANTWORKERANDTHE CALLTO
THE MINISTRY

2.1 - Types of Call -In all matters of the ministry, the first of all
The questions that are asked are whether the worker was really called by God to the ministry.
Many people have experienced 'spiritual chaos' because they became simply
professional workers

2.1.1 – Universal Call – There is a sense in which all believers are called
for the work, and this call is characterized by love for souls and by an intense spirit of
evangelization (Luke 19:10; Mark 15:16 and Romans 10:18).

2.1.2 – Specific Call – Certain people, however, are called and chosen by the
Lord to serve in a definite and striking way. Comparing the Church of the Lord to a
large army, it becomes necessary a variety of ministries, such as: pastors, evangelists,
missionaries, deacons, intercessors, supporters, teachers, ushers, visitors, leaders
and many others, all "workers" in the work of God.
Each believer has their work that is "determined by the Lord," and it is a privilege to receive.
the specific task given by the Lord (John 15:16; Ephesians 4:15,16);

2.1.3 - Varieties of ministries - Just as a body needs a variety of

members to function in harmony, the Church of the Lord, as one body, maintains the same
principle (Rm 10:15; 12:4-8; Ef 4:8,11; 1Tm 3 and Ex 31:6);

2.1.4 – False ministries – We conclude that there are people who choose the ministry
as a profession (Lv 10.1-3), to gain prestige (Nm 16.1-3), and for the simple pleasure of wanting
ser. (2Sm 18.22; Ez 3.3,6).

2.2 - Call Mode -How can someone know they are being called by
God for the ministry? How to avoid the mistake of Aimaás 'the runner' (2 Sam 18:19-33), Nadab and
Abiu? (Lev 10:1-2), How NOT to become a hindrance to others?

The divine call is characterized by the following aspects:

Spiritual concept - 1Co 2.14; Is 30.21

2.2.2 – Divine initiative – John 15:16; Isaiah 19:19; Amos 7:14,15

for discussion. We do not consider that it contains all the truths of the Bible, but that
encompasses the truths that this institution considers fundamental.

THE BIBLE -It is the Word of God in human language, sacred verbal inspiration

GOD FATHER -There is one living and true God who is a personal spirit, eternal, infinite, and unchangeable;
He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent; He is perfect in holiness, justice, truth, and love. In
His Trinity, the eternal God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, being three persons.
distinct but not divided in their essence.(Gen 1:1; Gen 1:26; Deut 6:4; 1John 5:7).

faith in Jesus Christ. It is also the universal gathering of the redeemed from all times, established
by Jesus Christ and built upon Him, constituting the spiritual body of the Lord, of which He
the same is the head. Its unity is of a spiritual nature and is expressed through fraternal love, by

LEADERSHIP –We believe, biblically, in the universal priesthood of believers, of the free
exam of the Bible and, therefore, of the free access to God, through Jesus Christ. We reject the
sacerdotalism, sacramentalism, ritualism, and the human pretension to interpose between

to preach and teach the Word, without mixing in error, without distortions, with faithfulness, dedication,
simplicity and clarity. (2 Timothy 4:2-4, Ephesians 4:11; 1 Corinthians 11:3).

SALVATION -It is the liberation from the yoke of sin and death, and the reestablishment of a
a deep relationship with God. It is granted by grace and through faith in Jesus Christ, it is not
obtained neither by personal merit nor by good works. God offers salvation, not just for life
present, but also for eternity, to all who accept and remain (until the end) in
Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. (Mk 13:13; Jn 15:2; Rom 6:18, 22-23; Eph 2:8-9; 1Pet 1:4; Rom
8:21-23).

SINBy missing the target and disobeying God, man passed on to his generation the
original sin, needing salvation, obtained through grace and by faith in the sacrifice
of Jesus Christ, the only way to reconnect man to God. (Romans 3:22-24,28; Ephesians 2:8-10; Hebrews
7:25;5:9; John 14:6.

BAPTISMWe believe in baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, as an absolute necessity of the publication of your new birth by faith in

of the kingdom of heaven. (Mt 28:19; Jo 3:3-8).

Moment of reflection, confession, and personal repentance of each Christian. (1Co 11:23-30)

Tithe -It is the Biblical practice of giving back to God a tenth of one's earnings.
tithe and offerings are ordinances of the old covenant; however, under the new covenant, they are a
voluntary expression of worship and submission. Giving the tithe is a sample of worship,
faith and love for God, who is the Source of salvation and Giver of all good things and of all

FAMILY -The family, created by God for the good of man, is the first institution.
of society. Its foundation is the monogamous and lasting marriage, for life, which can only be
to be undone by death or by ongoing marital infidelity. The immediate purpose of the family
to glorify God and to provide for the satisfaction of human needs for communion, education,
companionship, safety, preservation of the species and also the perfect adjustment of

ETERNITY –We believe in eternal life for the saved and eternal torment thereafter.
final judgment for those who did not believe in God. (John 11:25-26; Revelation 20:11-15).

USAGE AND CUSTOMS - We believe that customs vary according to the people, race, language,
culture and time, therefore, should not be confused with immutable biblical doctrine. Making of the
observance of a custom as a condition for salvation makes the grace of God ineffective.
We do not observe Saturdays, festivals, and we do not abstain from food (except for
alcoholic beverages).(Col 2:20-23; Rom 14:6-10, 1 Tim 9-10; Mark 2:27; John 5:18; Col 2:16-18).

DONSWe believe in all the gifts described in the Holy Scriptures and poured out by
Holy Spirit over Christians, from the period of the Primitive Church to the present day. They must
be sought after, with diligence, and used for the edification, exhortation, and comfort of the Church. (1 Cor 14:1-
33).

This statement is supported by texts expressed in the Holy Bible, and everything that has been omitted.
we refer to the principles and precepts clearly expressed in the Scriptures.
