1. Introduction to Communication in Organizations

• Business Environment and Communication: Understanding how businesses operate


within external and internal environments, and how communication acts as a bridge.
• Models of Communication: Shannon-Weaver Model, Berlo’s SMCR Model,
Schramm’s Model, and Transactional Model.
• Basics of Communication: Types (verbal, non-verbal, written, visual); Channels
(formal, informal, digital, face-to-face); Barriers (physical, psychological, semantic,
organizational).
• 7Cs of Communication: Clear, Concise, Concrete, Correct, Coherent, Complete,
Courteous.
• Formal and Informal Communication: Formal follows hierarchy, Informal (grapevine)
spreads faster and builds relations.
• Listening Skills: Active listening, empathetic listening, barriers to effective listening.
• Communication on Social Media Platforms: Role in branding, networking, marketing,
customer support.

2. Written Communication

• Planning and Executing Messages: Define purpose, audience, tone, and clarity.
