📊 Percentage Calculation:
Productive % = (11 / 15) × 100 = 73.33%
Unproductive % = (4 / 15) × 100 = 26.67%
As part of my self-management project, I tracked my daily
activities and categorized them as productive or unproductive.
Out of 15 total activities, 11 were found to be productive,
including studying, doing homework, reading, exercise, and
meaningful breaks. The remaining 4 activities, such as watching
TV, gaming, idle daydreaming, and excessive phone use, were
marked unproductive. This means I spent approximately
73.33% of my time productively and 26.67% unproductively.
This analysis gave me a clear picture of how I manage my time
throughout the day. While I am happy with the amount of
productive time, there is still room for improvement. To better
manage my time, I plan to reduce unproductive habits, set daily
goals, and follow a well-organized schedule. I also aim to take
regular short breaks to refresh my mind without wasting time.
This exercise has helped me become more aware and
responsible with my daily routine.
✅ Better Time Management Tips
1. Make a To-Do List Every Morning
Start your day with a list of tasks you want to complete.
Prioritize the most important ones.
2. Use the 80/20 Rule
Focus on the 20% of tasks that give you 80% of results (like
studying or completing assignments).
3. Break Big Tasks into Smaller Ones
Divide large goals into small steps. It helps you avoid
procrastination and stay motivated.
4. Avoid Multitasking
Focus on one task at a time. Multitasking reduces efficiency
and leads to mistakes.
5. Use Timers (Pomodoro Technique)
Work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. After 4
sessions, take a longer break.
6. Limit Distractions
Keep your phone silent or away during study time. Block
distracting apps if needed.
7. Track Your Time
Monitor how you spend your time daily. Identify where time
is wasted and adjust.
8. Set Clear Deadlines
Even for personal tasks, having a deadline keeps you
accountable and focused.
9. Say “No” to Unnecessary Tasks
Don’t overload yourself. Learn to say no to things that don’t
match your goals.
10. Get Enough Sleep
A well-rested mind works faster and stays focused longer.
Suggestion for better time management
Prioritize Tasks: Focus on high-impact tasks first, like study
and homework, to ensure important work gets done.
Set Time Limits: Allocate specific time slots for each activity
and stick to them to avoid overruns.
Minimize Unproductive Time: Reduce time spent on
activities like TV, gaming, chatting, and daydreaming by setting
strict limits.
Use Breaks Wisely: Take short breaks between tasks to
refresh your mind but avoid letting breaks extend too long.
Create a Daily Schedule: Plan your day in advance with a to-
do list or timetable to keep yourself on track.
Avoid Multitasking: Focus on one task at a time to improve
concentration and efficiency.
Limit Distractions: Keep your phone on silent or away during
study/work periods to avoid interruptions.
Reflect Daily: At the end of each day, review how you spent
your time and adjust your schedule for the next day accordingly
