STEWARDS OF TOMORROW

Scene 1: Trash Crisis :

(Opening shot: A dirty school yard with scattered trash — plastic wrappers, paper, food
waste all mixed together. The camera slowly pans across the mess.)

Narrator (V.O.):
Our common home — the Earth — is crying. Every day, trash is scattered
without care. No segregation, no responsibility… only destruction.

(A man walks by carrying a snack. He crumples the wrapper and casually throws it towards
the trash bin, but it misses and falls to the ground. He walks away without looking
back.)

(Elora, a student, sees it from a distance. She frowns, walks over, picks it up, and
places it properly inside the correct bin, and sighs)

SCENE 2 : CLASROOM DISCUSSION

(Ms. Navarro writes ‘LAUDATO SI’ on the board. Students are listening)

MS. NAVARRO:
Class, our planet is drowning in waste. Improper disposal and lack of
segregation are destroying God’s creation.

((Students exchange glances, concerned.))

POPE FRANCIS WROTE : THE EARTH WILL NOT CONTINUE TO OFFER ITS HARVEST
EXCEPT WITH FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP.
Yet, we treat her like a dumping ground. What will you do to heal her?
So here’s your task — I want you to make a short video showing what
students can do to solve improper waste disposal in our school. Show
me how you can make a difference.

Scene 3 – Recess Planning

(ELORA gathers KOBE, MILLICENT, LEON, ROVINA and DUKE near a bench.)

ELORA:
Guys, you remember Miss Navarro’s assignment? I think we should focus
on trash segregation. I saw someone litter this morning, and it made
me think… we can really change how people see waste.

DIOR:
Yeah. People still don’t separate biodegradable from non-
biodegradable.

MILLICENT:
We could make it simple — just show them what goes where.

ROVINA:
And maybe talk to people about why it’s important.

ELORA:
We’ll need someone to interview. Someone who doesn’t know much about
waste segregation… so we can teach them.

(They nod in agreement.)

SCENE 4 : PRAYING AT CHURCH

(The group is shown kneeling inside the church, praying quietly.)

Lord, guide us to make this project meaningful. Help us inspire others

to care for Your creation.
(As they leave the church, they see a family — mother, father, and a
young boy — finishing snacks. The boy throws his juice box onto the
ground.)

ELORA : Excuse me… I think you dropped something.

(they approach the family)

MR. JEFERRSON : It’s just trash. Why the fuss?

MS. DEBORAH : Jefferson, she’s right… Oh! Were so sorry (kuhaon ag
trash, isud sa bag)

DUKE : We’re actually making a school project about trash segregation.

Would you like to help us?

MR. JEFFERSON : MHMM.. OKAY FINE, BUT MAKE IT QUICK..

SCENE 5 : INTERVIEW WITH THE FAMILY

ELORA : First question — do you practice waste segregation at home?

MR. JEFFERSON : Sometimes, but not all the time.

KOBE : Do you know the difference between biodegradable and non-

biodegradable waste?

MS, DEEBORAH : Biodegradable is like food waste, right? And non-

biodegradable is plastics?

MILLICENT : Last question — if you could send one message to others

about trash, what would it be?

MR. JEFFERSON : Don’t just throw it anywhere — think about where it

should go.

HARVIN : And don’t litter!

ELORA : Perfect answer! Thank you so much for your time — and for
helping us spread waste awareness.
SCENE 6 : TAKING ACTION

( naay namunit, naay nag seperate sa mga basura, then lastly naay nag
recycled) ( mag high five after)

NARRATOR V.O :
When we take one small step to care for creation, we take one big step
closer to the world God intended for us.

ELORA : (looking into camera, calm but firm tone)

As Holy Crossians, we are called to care for our common home. Caring
for the Earth is more than a duty… it’s an act of love. And love, when
shared, multiplies.

(The group and family stand together, smiling. The camera slowly zooms
out.)

ALL : Be a steward of creation. Segregate waste. Protect our common

home.
