🎹 Advanced Piano Chords – Class Notes

1. Review of Basic Chords

- Major Triad: Root + Major 3rd + Perfect 5th (e.g., C–E–G)


- Minor Triad: Root + Minor 3rd + Perfect 5th (e.g., A–C–E)
- Diminished Triad: Root + Minor 3rd + Diminished 5th (e.g., B–D–F)
- Augmented Triad: Root + Major 3rd + Augmented 5th (e.g., C–E–G#)

2. Seventh Chords

- Major 7th (maj7): Root + Major 3rd + Perfect 5th + Major 7th (C–E–G–B)
