Spelling Bee Competition Plan
Objectives
Improve students’ spelling and pronunciation skills.
Build confidence in public speaking.
Enhance vocabulary development in a fun, competitive way.
Students will be qualified to participate in World Spelling Championship.
Competition Structure:
1. Participants: Students from Grades 7–8
2. Rounds:
Round 1 – Easy Level (Oral): Basic vocabulary, 1 attempt per word.
(in class activity). The best two will be chosen for Round 2
Round 2 – Medium Level (Oral): More challenging words,
elimination round.
Final Round – Championship: Last 3 students compete to choose
the 1st , 2nd , and 3rd
3. Rules:
Each student has 30 seconds to spell a word.
The student may ask the pronouncer to repeat the word once only.
A wrong spelling = elimination.
4. Judging Panel: 1 pronouncer + 2 judges (to check accuracy).
5. Awards: Certificates, medals, and small prizes for winners.
