100/ED 250 operator.

2.1 Intended use


The ED Multi Adapter CAN is a circuit board that enables the connection of an external
program switch in combination with the ED CAN connection board.

The operating conditions specified in the mounting and commissioning instructions for ED
100/ED250 operators apply to the ED connection board CAN.

When using an ED Multi Adapter CAN board, a BRC-R radio receiver cannot be used.

4 Mounting
4.1 Mounting the ED Multi Adapter CAN
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the cables
Cables could be damaged if they come into contact with moving parts.
• Lay all cables so that they do not come into contact with moving parts!

1. Mount the circuit board on the ED housing using the two screws provided.

2. Disconnect the internal program switch from the ED.

3. Connect the Multi Adapter CAN using the 4-wire ribbon cable supplied.
4. If the ED connection board CAN is installed, connect the Multi Adapter CAN and the ED
connection board CAN via the CAN cable (connection on the underside of the circuit
board).
5. Connect the CAN components to the Multi Adapter CAN.
6. Insert 1 terminating resistor into each of the two CAN components furthest away from the
control unit (measured by the cable length) or activate the switchable terminating
resistor (sensors), see Connection diagrams [} 4.2].

7. Connect the external program switch to terminals 3/31/32/34.


3 = GND
31 = Automatic
32 = Exit
NOTE When using the "Exit" operating mode, the supplied diode must be connected to
terminals 31 and 32 using shrinking hose.
34 = Permanent open
WARNING! The “Partial open” operating mode is not possible in double-leaf units.
8. For double-leaf doors, connect the internal program switch to the Multi Adapter CAN.

If the electronic program switch is to be used, the supplied diode must be connected to
terminals 31 and 32 using shrinking hose.

Disassembly and disposal Mounting instructions

5 Disassembly and disposal


Disassembly is carried out in the reverse order of mounting and must be carried out by
qualified personnel.

The product must not be disposed of in domestic waste. Dispose of the


product in an environmentally friendly manner at the collection points set up
for this purpose. Refer to the statutory regulations for your country.
