Ways of adaptation
1. Polar bear:
Lives in arctic region
It has thick white fur:
- Thick to: Keep warm.
- White to: Blend with snow to hunt catch
its prey
2. Brown or black bear:
Lives in Forest
It has dark brown fur to:
- help it to hide between
trees during catching its prey
3. Caracal and fennec fox
They live in desert
They have sandy-coloured fur

help them blend in with
desert landscapes.
4. Starred agama lizard
It lives in colourful
rocks in the desert.
It protects itself by
finding a shaded area to
keep itself cool.

From the previous examples, we notice that some animals adapt in
many ways to hide from their predators by (Camouflage).
Camouflage.
• It is a type of adaptation that some animals use to
hide from their predators by blending in with the
surrounding environments.
• Predator is an animal that hunts and eats
another animal.
• Prey: is an animal that is hunted and eaten by
another animal.
