Back continued
Continue to work the Front & Back Chart and Moss Stitch on each end until the back measures 26.75
(27.25, 27.75, 28, 28) inches. BO in pattern, decreasing, by working a k2tog in each cable as you BO.
See the Pattern Note on the bottom of this page for more on the BO decreases.
Front
Work as back until the front measures 25.5 (26, 26.5, 26.75, 26.75) inches. Work 35 (39, 43, 45, 51) sts
in pattern, BO 44 (46, 52, 58, 60) sts in pattern, decreasing in each cable section, work 35 (39, 43, 45,
51) sts in pattern.
Shape Neck
Working each side separately, decrease 1 st on the neck edge on each RS row 3 times. Work even until
each side measures 26.75 (27.25, 27.75, 28, 28) inches. BO in pattern, decreasing in each cable section.
Sleeves (make 2)
CO 49 (49, 51, 53, 57) sts. Work in a [k1, p1] rib for 7 rows. Next row (RS): knit, increasing 15 sts evenly
across the row. 64 (64, 66, 68, 72) sts. Work the set up row, working 1 (1, 2, 3, 5) sts in Moss Stitch, work
the set up row of the chart, then 1 (1, 2, 3, 5) sts in Moss Stitch.
Continue the chart, increasing 1 st on each end in Moss Stitch every 2 rows 0 (0, 0, 2, 2) times, then every
4 rows 10 (17, 25, 31, 32) times, then every 6 rows 13 (9, 4, 0, 0) times. 110 (116, 124, 134, 138) sts.
Work even until sleeve measures 19 (19.5, 20, 20.5, 21) inches.
Shape Saddle
On the next RS row, BO 46 (49, 53, 58, 60) sts in pattern, decreasing as in prior BO’s in the cable sections,
p2, work the next 14 sts in pattern, p2, BO 46 (49, 53, 58, 60) sts in pattern. Attach yarn to the remain-
ing live sts and work in pattern until saddle measures 6 (6.75, 7.5, 8, 8.5) inches from the sleeve BO. BO
saddle sts in pattern.
Finishing
Dampen the pieces with cool water and lay flat to dry, blocking to the desired measurements. Sew both
saddles and sleeves to the front and back, then sew side seams.
Finish Neck
With 16 inch circular needle, beginning at the seam of the right saddle and back, pick up 80 (86, 90, 100,
110) sts around the neck. Work 7 rounds in a [k2,p2] rib. BO in pattern.
Pattern Note
When binding off, I suggest that you k2tog once or twice per cable to keep the cable from flaring out to a
larger width. On a 4 stitch cable, I k2tog once, and on the 5 or 6 stitch cable I k2tog twice, These decreas-
es provide an adjustment for the differences in gauge between the cables and moss sections.
