RE: Proposal for Cookfest 2025

Dear Ma’am,

Warm greetings!

In celebration of Nutrition Month 2025, we respectfully submit for your


approval the proposal to conduct Cookfest 2025 on July 25, 2025, from
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the EDNAS School Gymnasium.
Theme:
“Savoring Health: Promoting Nutrition Through Traditional Filipino
Dishes!”

Aligned with the DepEd National Nutrition Month Theme:

"Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!"


Subtheme: “Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain,
Karapatan Natin!”

This activity aims to celebrate the richness of Filipino culinary heritage while
promoting nutrition, food security, and healthy eating habits among
students.

Objectives:
 Promote nutritious and balanced eating through traditional Filipino
cuisine
 Foster teamwork, creativity, and food safety practices
 Deepen awareness of Filipino culture through culinary expression
 Encourage cooking as a valuable life skill
Participants:

All classes from Grades 7 to 12 will form one team each. Every team will be
composed of the following:
 1 Head Chef – leads food preparation and explains the dish
 2 Assistant Cooks – assist in cooking and plating
 1 Cleaner – ensures sanitation and hygiene
 4 Booth and Table Designers – handle setup and decoration

Mechanics:
 Each team must prepare a Three-Course Filipino Meal:
o 1 Main Dish
o 1 Dessert
o 1 Nutritious Drink
 Budget Limit: ₱1,000 per team
 Time Allotment:
o 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Cooking and preparation
o 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Presentation and judging
 A surprise ingredient will be revealed at the start, which must be
creatively incorporated into the main dish.
 Each team will present their dish to the panel of judges, highlighting
both cultural significance and nutritional value.
 Booths must reflect traditional Filipino design elements, judged in
a separate category.

Judging Criteria:
Main Dish Evaluation (Three-Course Meal):
 Taste and Flavor – 30%
 Presentation and Creativity – 20%
 Use of Secret Ingredient – 15%
 Teamwork and Coordination – 15%
 Sanitation and Cleanliness – 10%
 Cultural Connection – 10%
Total: 100%

Booth and Table Presentation:


 Creativity and Aesthetic Appeal – 40%
 Cultural Representation – 30%
 Theme Consistency – 30%
Total: 100%

 Live Cooking Stations per team
 Booth Decoration Contest
 Cultural and Nutritional Dish Presentations
 Judges’ Q&A for student engagement and culinary reasoning
 Exciting Awards and Recognitions

Awards:
 Best Dish of the Day
 Most Creative Presentation
 Best in Teamwork
 Clean Kitchen Award

Certificates and small tokens will be given to winners to recognize their


efforts and encourage future participation.

educational experience for our learners, enriching their knowledge of
nutrition, culture, and collaboration.
