BYD Song L EV 2024 - Manual Update Guide (ADAS
& HUD)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions to manually update the ADAS and HUD systems of
your BYD Song L EV 2024 using a USB flash drive. The procedure follows the actual DiLink 5
system menus and ensures a safe update process.
Step 1: Prepare the USB Drive
• Use a USB flash drive (8–32 GB, preferably USB 2.0).
• Format the USB drive to FAT32.
• Create the following folder structure:
• USB_ROOT/update/adas/adas_xxx.bin (ADAS file)
• USB_ROOT/update/hud/hud_xxx.zip (HUD file).
• Do not rename or unzip the files unless explicitly instructed.
Step 2: Insert the USB into the Vehicle
• Insert the USB into the front media USB port (not the charging-only port).
• Turn the vehicle to ACC ON mode (screen on, engine off).
Step 3: Perform the Update on DiLink 5
• From the main screen, go to: Settings (■■).
• Navigate to: System.
• Select: Update / Local Upgrade.
• The system will scan the USB and display available updates:
• - ADAS Update
• - HUD Update
• Start with ADAS Update → Install.
• Wait for the update to complete (10–15 minutes).
• After restart, repeat the process for HUD Update → Install.
Step 4: Verify the Update
• After installation, the system will restart automatically.
• Check the version information:
• - Settings → System → About → Version Info.
• Confirm ADAS shows version (e.g., 4.01.63).
• Confirm HUD shows version (e.g., 3.00.21).
Important Notes
• Do not remove the USB or power off the vehicle during the update.
• Ensure the vehicle battery is above 50%.
• Perform ADAS update first, then HUD update.
• If the system fails to recognize the files, try placing them under 'upgrade' instead of 'update'.
• If repeated failures occur, contact an authorized BYD service center.
