VLSM Exercises

1. A class C address of 192.168.10.0/24 has been allocated. Perth, Sydney, and Singapore
have a WAN connection to Kuala Lumpur.

• Perth requires 60 hosts.

• Kuala Lumpur requires 28 hosts.

• Sydney and Singapore each require 12 hosts.

To calculate VLSM subnets and the respective hosts allocate the largest requirements first from
the address range. Requirements levels should be listed from the largest to the smallest.

2. Subnet network 192.168.32.0/24 to accommodate the networks indicated as efficiently as


possible to meet the following requirements.

Network LAN 1: 65 hosts.

Network LAN 2: 2 hosts.

Network LAN 3: 10 hosts.

Network LAN 4: 60 hosts.

Network WAN 1: 2 hosts.

Network WAN 2: 2 hosts.

Network WAN 3: 2 hosts.


3. Use 123.16.100.0/24 network address and subnet optimizing address range following
requirements:

*1st subnet must support up to 90 users

*2nd subnet must support up to 50 users

*3rd subnet must support up to 40 users

4. Use 77.10.100.0/16 network address and subnet optimizing address range following
requirements:

*2 vlans must support up to 900 users

*4 vlans must support up to 5000 users

*8 vlans must support up to 400 users
