1. This poster alongside highlights the need for “peace”. It says, “ peace is a never ending
process….. It cannot ignore our differences or overlook our common interests”. Write in your
own words what you think the above sentences are trying to convey? How does it relate to the
need for religious tolerance?

Ans. The poster conveys the message to create peace and harmony in the society. It explains
that peace is a never ending process but it can be established when we co-ordinate with each
other. We should respect all the religions. We should work with in harmony with all religious
communities. It will create a cherished environment.

Answer. Rekha asked the government teacher “There is a big religious festival next month. We’ve
never celebrated it in school Can we do it this year ? ”.
2. Name the place where the government school is situated in the above story?

Answer. Seemapur.
3. What was the explanation given by sir when he said no for the celebration of festival in the
government school ?:

Answer. The explaination given by the teacher, The Constitution of India has the provision to
celebrate festivals in their own way and the government policy is that the state should respect all
religions equally. So, government school do not celebrate any religious festival in the school
premises. People are free to celebrate these religious festivals in their own way.
