Internships play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic education and

opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, gain valuable
hands- on experience, and develop essential skills required in their chosen fields. In
the context of the industrial sector, internships are particularly beneficial as they
offer insights into the operations, technologies, and workflows that drive the
industry.

1.2 PURPOSE OF INTERNSHIP

The primary purpose of an internship is to provide students or early- career in professionals


with the opportunity to develop practical skills and gain hands-on experience in their field.
It allows individuals to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in academic settings to
real world tasks, thereby bridging the gap between education and employment. Internships
also serve as for career exploration, helping participants identify their interests, strengths,
suitability for specific roles or industries.Through internships, individuals build essential
soft skills such as communication teamwork, and time management, while also enhancing
technical abilities relevant to their field.

Another key objective of internships is to help individuals establish a professional in the


network. By working closely with experienced professionals, interns gain mentorship,

The purpose of Industrial Training is to expose students to real work environment


experience and at the same time, to gain knowledge through hands-on observation and
job execution. From the industrial training, the students will also develop skills in work
ethics, communication, management and others. Moreover, this practical training
program allows students to relate theoretical knowledge with its application in the
manufacturing industry.

1.6 TRAINING AT SHRI SHYAM GARMENTS

Training at SHRI SHYAM GARMENTS was a great experience. This organization


offers an enriching internship experience where professionals can learn also the latest
technologies and real projects with a focus an mentorship and skill development the
internship program paves the way for future career growth and industry readiness and
which it follows:

 During an internship in the garment industry, interns are typically trained across
a range of technical, managerial, and compliance-related areas to provide a holistic
understanding of apparel manufacturing. The training often begins with an
introduction to fabric knowledge covering the various types of fabrics like woven,
knit, and denim, along with their mostly construction, GSM (grams per square
meter) calculation, and methods to identify common fabric defects.This is
followed by a comprehensive overview of the garment manufacturing process,
where interns learn the complete production flow fromfabric inspection to cutting
stitching, finishing, and packing.

 Interns are also introduced to the basics of pattern making and garment
construction, including manual and CAD-based pattern development, marker
planning, and fabric consumption. They receive hands-on exposure to industrial
sewing techniques and machinery, learning operations such as lockstitch, overlock,
and flatlock using factory-grade equipment.

1.7 PURPOSE OF IDENTIFICATION OF COMPANY

SHRI SHYAM GARMENTS is an organization recommended by my friends,


seniors and employees. This company organizes great hands-on sessions to learn
more about the manufacturing we use in our daily lives. The members of the
organization do not hesitate to give us a comfort zone when in doubt. Ever step of
the training program was in my comfort zone from start to finish. This is the reason
to choose SRI SHYAM GARMENTS for your internship program.
 From a managerial perspective, interns are trained in production planning and
control (PPC), understanding order scheduling, lead time estimation, and line
balancing.They also gain basic knowledge of merchandising — including sampling,
cost sheet preparation, and buyer communication. Training in inventory and store
management includes raw material handling, storage protocols, and methods like
FIFO (First-In-First-Out) for inventory accuracy.
 Sustainability and compliance are increasingly important, so interns are introduced
to eco- friendly practices, sustainable fabric use, and waste management they also
learn about social compliance standards such as BSC I, SEDEX,

The duration of the training period is 15 days. A 15-day internship is relatively short
and may be suitable for people with limited opportunities or who wish to gain practical
experience in a specific field without doing a longer internship.
