Outcome:
The AWS and DevOps Workshop conducted at Velammal Institute of Technology yielded highly
positive outcomes for both participants and organizers. The key takeaways and results of the event are
as follows:
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
1. Enhanced Technical Skills
Participants gained foundational and intermediate-level knowledge in cloud computing,
particularly with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
Practical sessions enabled students to deploy real-time applications, set up CI/CD
pipelines, and manage infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation and CDK.
2. Understanding of DevOps Culture
Students developed a strong understanding of DevOps principles, including Continuous
Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Emphasis on automation, collaboration, and agile practices helped bridge the gap between
development and operations for the attendees.
3. Increased Employability
The skills imparted are highly aligned with current industry demands in cloud computing and
DevOps roles.
Several students expressed interest in pursuing AWS certifications and DevOps roles as
career paths, improving their readiness for job placements.
4. Hands-On Experience
Over 10 hours of guided labs gave students valuable hands-on experience in configuring,
deploying, and monitoring applications on AWS.
Real-time troubleshooting and live demonstrations enhanced learning retention.
5. Positive Participant Feedback
Feedback collected at the end of the program indicated:
o 95% of students rated the workshop as “very useful”.
o Participants appreciated the interactive nature, real-world examples, and step-by-
step labs.
