ABOUT SRMIST
SRM Institute of Science and Technology is one of the top-ranking universities in India with 52000 full-time students and over

ABOUT SAID
The School of Architecture & Interior Design (SAID) was established in 1992 with the mission to educate students aspiring to
become Architects and Interior designers who will contribute to the socio-economic and cultural development of India and the
broader global community through responsible participation in the design and creation of the built environment. The school has
eminent faculty members comprising experienced professors and practicing architects. designers specialized in diverse areas
such as Building Science, Digital Architecture, City Planning, Urban Design, Project Management, Housing, Landscape Design
and Interior Design. The School has taken various research initiatives over the years to mobilize available knowledge resources
for research and to develop innovative solutions. SAID has been ranked 11 nationally under the universities category by NIRF in
2024 and Category “Platinum+ in QS rating for Architecture” (2024-26).
ABOUT THE DESIGN CONCLAVE
Design Conclave 2025, themed "Mind to Matter: The Design Continuum", celebrates the transformative journey of design — from
the intangible spark of an idea to its tangible manifestation in the built and experienced world. It explores how creativity moves
fluidly through stages of ideation, conceptual development, experimentation, and refinement, culminating in outcomes that
shape how people live, work, and interact. The theme delves into the intricate interplay between imagination, technology,
design methodologies, and material intelligence, while highlighting how human experience, emotion, and cultural context
influence and are influenced by design decisions. This vibrant two-day event brings together trailblazing designers, thinkers,
educators, and students to spark conversations, challenge conventions, and explore the future of design. Through thought-
provoking talks, immersive workshops, and collaborative exchanges, the conclave becomes a dynamic platform where the
boundaries of possibility are redefined, innovation thrives, and the next generation of design narratives is forged.

SPATIAL NARRATIVES IN INTERIORS (TRANSLATING IDEAS AND EMOTIONS INTO EXPERIENTIAL SPACES)
This theme explores how interiors can act as storytellers—where light, texture, form, and spatial composition weave
together to evoke emotions, convey cultural meaning, and guide user experiences. It examines design as a narrative journey,
from abstract concepts to immersive realities, blending functionality with poetic expression.
TRANSFORMATIVE INTERIORS (FUNCTIONALITY, ADAPTABILITY, AND MATERIAL-SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE)
Focusing on the evolving needs of modern living and working, this theme investigates interiors that adapt and respond to
change—be it through modular design, flexible layouts, or innovative use of materials. It delves into how spatial intelligence
and material innovation can create interiors that are not just functional, but also responsive and resilient.
PAPER TO PIXEL – DIGITAL TOOLS AS EXTENSIONS OF THOUGHT (DIGITAL STORYTELLING AND AI-DRIVEN DESIGN
APPROACHES)
This theme focuses on the expanding role of technology in design thinking—from sketches on paper to immersive digital
models and AI-assisted creativity. It addresses how digital tools enhance ideation, streamline workflows, and open new
avenues for storytelling, enabling designers to visualize, iterate, and materialize ideas with unprecedented clarity and speed.

design, and architecture.
