3. Introduction
3.1 Purpose

This Business Requirements Document (BRD) captures the detailed business requirements for
designing and implementing a comprehensive lending platform covering loan origination,
underwriting, collections, and specialized products such as student loans, home loans,
mortgages, and high‑value (big amount) loans. It serves as the authoritative reference for
stakeholders, developers, and vendors.

3.2 Background
The bank currently operates disparate legacy systems for various loan products, leading to
inefficiencies, data silos, and manual interventions. The new platform aims to streamline
end‑to‑end lending processes, reduce turnaround times, ensure regulatory compliance, and
improve customer experience.

services

● Role-based access control (applicants, loan officers, underwriters, collection agents)
