Reporting & Database Developer - Romania
The Silver Point Capital IT Reporting and Data Services team is looking for a talented candidate with a strong academic record of
accomplishment and more than eight years of experience in the data and reporting field to join a growing Romanian team and partner
with the US IT team to contribute to the success of the firm. We are early in the process of transitioning towards a cloud focused data
environment potentially utilizing tools such as Azure Data Fabric and Power BI. Expertise or a strong enthusiasm to grow into these
areas will be highly regarded. Initially, primary day-to-day responsibilities include the following:
• Develop, support, document, and test custom reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
• Develop, document, and test proprietary SQL Server objects used for reporting and other internal data service needs
• Assist the team supporting and interfacing with critical 3rd party applications
• Identify performance bottlenecks and system bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Work directly with the project management and business teams to translate requirements into functional reports, integrations, and
data feeds
Qualifications/Skills
Required:
• Proven track record with 8+ years’ experience with SQL stored procedures and reporting tools, preferably SSRS
• Strong academic track record with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical degree
• Strong design principles underpinning clean and maintainable code habits
• Desire to work with and gain in depth knowledge of 3rd party applications
• Desire to work directly with business users (application end-users)
• Self-motivated, quick learner, and demonstrated ability for learning new technology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Romanian
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence
• Eligibility to work in Romania
Preferred:
• Accounting and finance knowledge
• Experience with cloud-based reporting solutions on Azure, Snowflake, or AWS
• Knowledge of Excel/VBA, C#, and other programming/scripting languages
• Familiarity with industry applications (e.g., FIS Hedge Fund Portfolio Manager, Salesforce, Cobalt)
• Experience with continuous integration (CI) for streamlined deployment processes
