Advertisement for recruitment of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil)
in Brahmaputra Board
Online Application is Mandatory (Closing date: 01.10.2025)
Brahmaputra Board invites online applications from eligible graduate
Engineers in Civil Engineering for appointment to the post of Assistant executive
Engineer (Civil). The post carries pay scale of Level-10 of the Pay Matrix
(Rs.56,100 –1,77,500/-) as per the 7th CPC.
2. (a) The recruitment shall be made on the basis of a valid GATE 2024 or
GATE 2025 SCORE in the Civil Engineering discipline and Personal Interview. The
applications must be submitted within thirty days from the date of publication of
this advertisement i.e. from 02.09.2025 to 01.10.2025 up to 23.59 hrs.
(b) Applications shall be submitted exclusively through the official
recruitment portal ([Link] No other mode of
application shall be entertained. Detailed information regarding eligibility
conditions, procedure for submission of applications, selection methodology and
other terms and conditions shall be available on the recruitment portal.
Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully before applying.

No notification/corrigendum shall be issued for any such change.
3.1 Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and not more
than 30 years old on the closing date of application.
(a) The date of birth of the candidate shall be the date mentioned in the
Matriculation or Secondary School Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an
Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in extract of Matriculates
maintained by a university which must be certified by proper authority of the

University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.
Candidates should note that no subsequent request for change of date of birth
will be entertained.
(b) No other documents relating to age will be accepted.
(c) Age relaxation, if any, will be given as per Government of India's
orders/instruction issued from time to time.

3.3 Reservation:
I. Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Ex-servicemen
/EWS/PwD (Benchmark disability) will be as per Government of India
policy.
II. An EWS candidate will be eligible to get the benefit of the Economically
Weaker Section reservation only in case the candidate meets the criteria
issued by the Central Government and is in possession of requisite income
& Asset Certificate based on the income for the previous financial year of
the Notification for recruitment.
III. The Posts in Assistant Executive Engineer, identified as suitable for PWD
candidates who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, One Arm, One Leg, Cerebral
Palsy, Leprosy cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Specific Learning
Disability, Mental Illness, Multiple disabilities involving above PwD
candidate.
IV. The eligibility for availing relaxation against the vacancy reserved for the
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities shall be the same as prescribed in
"The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016." Provided further that
the physically disabled candidates shall also be required to meet special
eligibility criteria in terms of physical requirements/functional classification
(abilities/disabilities) consistent with requirements of the identified
Service/ Post as may be prescribed by its Cadre Controlling Authority.

Disability Certificate should be submitted by Persons with Benchmark
Disability candidates in the prescribed format.
V. Candidate seeking reservation/ relaxation benefits available for SC/ ST/
OBC (NCL) must be actually entitled to such reservation/ relaxation as per
eligibility prescribed in the Rules/Notice. They should be in possession of
all the requisite certificates in the prescribed format in support of their
claim as stipulated in the Rules/ Notice for such benefits and these
certificates should be dated earlier than the due date (closing date of the
application).
4. Eligibility criteria for recruitment through GATE:
(i) Educational Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering from a
recognized University or Institution.
(ii) Nationality: Indian
(iii) NOC: All candidates who have been employed in Government/Semi
Government/Central/State Government Departments/Public Sector
Undertakings are required to produce a 'No Objection Certificate' from
their employers during the interview if they are shortlisted.
(iv) Important Information:
a) Candidate should have any one of the following Photo ID Card
viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving
License/ Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/ Central
Government.
b) This Photo ID Card will be used for all future referencing and the
candidate is advised to carry this Photo ID Card while appearing
for Personality Test/ Interview.
5. Application fee and mode of remittance:
I. Application Fee will be Rs.1000/- (Rupee One Thousand) only. Transaction
charges of the bank, taxes etc, as applicable shall be borne by the
candidate.
II. All female candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/
Scheduled Tribe/ Persons with Disabilities are exempted from paying
application fee as per extant Government Rules/orders.
III. No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates and
they are required to pay the prescribed fee in full.
6. Mode of payment of application fee:
I. Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand)
only through payment Gateway provided in the application portal.
II. Fees paid by modes other than through online mode will not be accepted
and the applications of such candidates will be rejected and the payment
made, if any, shall stand forfeited.

7. Selection Process:
I. All the applications received shall be shortlisted based on requisite
eligibility to call for a personal interview on specified date.
II. Candidates shall be shortlisted in the ratio 1:5 for Personal Interview in
order of merit. However, the ratio may be relaxed by the competent
authority for reasons to be recorded, if necessary. The selection of
Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) shall be made on the basis of the
recommendations of Departmental Selection Committee (DSC)
constituted for the purpose by Brahmaputra Board based on weightage
of 75% given to GATE SCORE in Civil Engineering and 25% given to
personal interview to be conducted by the said Interview Board. The
total marks allotted for Personal Interview shall be 100 marks to each
candidate.
III. The requisite documents submitted by the selected candidates, if any,
is doubtful, the same shall be sent for verification to the respective
issuing authority.
IV. The Board shall issue communication to the selected candidates to join
within stipulated time from the date of issue of offer of appointment.
V. The candidate shall be required to produce Original/Provisional
Certificates in support of fulfilling the eligibility criteria etc. as to the
educational qualification and experience during interview and at the
time of joining.
8. General Conditions:
I. Brahmaputra Board reserves the right to cancel/ modify/ restrict/
enlarge/ alter any of the conditions/ provisions in the recruitment
process, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason
thereof.
II. Brahmaputra Board offices are mostly located in the NE region.
Hence, candidates willing to serve in the North Eastern area
only need to apply.
III. If any dispute arises with regard to qualification or eligibility or whether
a particular qualification is equivalent to the one mentioned in the
notification or not, then in that case Brahmaputra Board may at its
discretion, constitute an Expert Committee/ take expert opinion/advice
to take a view as regard to eligibility of the candidate with reference to
the notified qualification. The decision of the Brahmaputra Board in this
regard shall be final and binding upon the candidate.
IV. Brahmaputra Board shall reimburse to & fro AC-III Tier Rail Fare or Bus
Fare from the present/communication address to Brahmaputra Board
(HQ), Guwahati-29 by shortest direct route on production of
documentary proof/tickets for appearing in the interview.
V. The selected candidate shall have to furnish a Surety Bond of
₹5,00,000/- (Rupees five lakhs) only. If he/she leaves the service of the
Board before completion of three-year service (Probation of two years
+ one-year regular service thereafter), the surety furnished by the
candidates shall be forfeited. The amount of such bond may be
increased by the Board from time to time to maintain its potency.

VI. All the terms & conditions prescribed for appointment as a Probationer
Trainee in Government of India shall also be applicable.
VII. The application of a candidate shall be summarily rejected and action
shall be initiated as per Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 who
is or has been declared by the Brahmaputra Board to be guilty of:
Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any of the following
means, namely:
a) Offering illegal gratification to,
b) Applying pressure on,
c) Blackmailing, or threatening to blackmail any person connected with
the conduct of the examination,
d) Impersonating,
e) Procuring impersonation by any person,
f) Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been
tampered with,
g) Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing
material information,
h) Misbehaving during the documents verification/interview including
tearing of the scripts, provoking fellow examinees to boycott
examination, creating a disorderly scene and the like,
i) Harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by the
Brahmaputra Board for the conduct of documents
verification/interview,
j) Violating any of the instructions issued to candidates regarding
interview, document verification or any other matter.
9. Verification of documents:
Shortlisted candidates for Personal Interview must bring/submit the
following original documents along with a set of self-attested copy for verification
on the date for interview:
I. System generated printout of application with candidate's scanned
photograph and signature.
II. Certificate/Marks-sheet of Matriculation/Secondary School Exam/Class-X
pass in which date of birth of the candidate is indicated.
III. Degrees & Certificates of all educational and professional/higher
qualification along with marks-sheets of all years/semesters.
IV. Certificate of SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PWD/ESM, as the case may be, issued
by the concerned Competent Authority. The crucial date of validity for OBC,
(Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate in respect of candidates seeking
reservation will be treated as the closing date of application.
V. Disability Certificate (Showing the type & percentage of disability) issued
by the concerned competent authority in the prescribed format.
VI. Identity proof such as Aadhar Card/Voter ID Card, Passport, and Driving
License etc.
VII. All other documents as per details given in the advertisement and/or call
letter for interview.
VIII. In case a candidate who fails to appear the interview or verification of
documents/identity along with original documents on the specified date,

he/she shall not be eligible for appointment and his/her candidature shall
be rejected. Neither any request for change in date of interview/documents
verification shall be entertained nor second opportunity shall be provided
for interview/ verification of documents/identity in any case.
10. HOW TO APPLY:
I. Candidates must apply online through the online portal i.e.

any other mode shall not be accepted and shall be summarily rejected.
II. Detailed Instructions for filling online application are available on the

should read the instructions carefully before making any entry or selecting
options.
III. After submitting the online application, the candidates are required to take
print out of the finally submitted online application and retain the same
with them.
IV. Candidates are not required to submit to Brahmaputra Board either by
post or any other mode the printouts of their online application form or
any other document(s). They shall be required to submit printout of online
application form along with documents in support of their eligibility etc. at
the time of documents verification or interview in case they are shortlisted
for documents verification or Interview.
V. Application form once submitted cannot be modified. Hence utmost care
should be taken by the candidates to furnish the correct details before
submitting the online application form.
VI. Before applying online, candidate shall be required to have a scanned
(digital) image of his/her recent colored photograph and signature for
uploading. The scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG
format only and maximum digital size of scanned photograph should be
max 500kb and signature with black ink only. The photograph should not
be more than 3 months old from the date of publication of the notification.
The photograph shall be without cap, spectacles and both ears should be
visible.
VII. Candidate should first scan their photograph and signature, ensuring that
both the photograph and signature are as per the prescribed
specifications. If the size of the file is less than or more than the
prescribed specifications, then adjust the settings of the scanner (or resize
the image).
VIII. Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply online much before
the closing date and time of the submission of application form and not to
wait till the last date for submission of online application form to avoid the
possibility of congestion in server to log in etc.
IX. Before applying online, candidates shall:-
a) Scan the Photograph (4.5cm x 3.5cm) and Signature (with black ink
only) in JPEG/PNG format 500KB size only.
b) The image dimension of the signature should be about 4.0 cm
(width) x 2.0 cm (height). Applications with blurred

photograph/signatures will be rejected summarily. Signature in
CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
c) Scan the necessary Certificates/documents in PDF format with Max
2MB size each for upload.
d) Ready to make Online Payment of the requisite application fee.
e) Have a valid personal email ID and mobile Number which should be
kept active till the completion of the Recruitment Process.
Brahmaputra Board may send intimation to download call letters for
documents verification/interview through the registered e-mail
ID/Mobile Number. In case, a candidate does not have a valid
personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID and
mobile number before applying on-line and must maintain that
email account and mobile number during the course of recruitment
process.
11. Jurisdiction: The place for settlement of all disputes through negotiation,
mediation, referral and also through legal media would be Guwahati and decision
of the Competent Authority of Brahmaputra Board shall be final and binding.
