Department of Education (DepEd)
 Implementation of the Academic School Readiness
and Responsiveness Audit (ASRRA) which serves as
the quality assurance mechanism to assess school
level readiness in delivering aral interventions.
 Deepen the understanding of the Instructional
Supervision and its scope.
Highlights of the Activity
and Discussion  The session started with a prayer thru an
overture.
 Ma’am Haydee C. Cayaco, School Head of Yapad
Integrated School do the honor in welcoming all the
participants of the said ARAL Program Orientation.
 Ma’am Haydee the District ARAL Program Coordinator

 She stated that the ARAL Program shall be
implemented in phases of school year 2025-2026; for
Grade 1, the program shall start in the 3 rd quarter and
for grades 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 it shall start in the 2 nd
quarter of the school year 2025-2026.
 The result from the BOSY reading assessments which
are the CRLA for grade 1-3 and Phil-IRI for grades 4-
10 will serve as the basis for the learners who will be
included in the ARAL Program prioritizing those
learners who belong to the low and high emerging
level of reading proficiency.
 She also added that since the key stage 1 teachers are
having underload in completing the 6 hours of
teaching, they are required to serve as the tutors of
these ARAL Reading beneficiaries but not handling
their own learners. On the other hand, the key stage 2
teachers may opt not to tutor the learners since they
are having an overload in teaching. The school may
hire a qualified tutors who will handle those ARAL
Reading learners.
 If the teacher refuses to handle the ARAL Reading,
he /she must submit a letter addressed to the Schools
Division Superintendent stating the reasons why
he/she opt not to do the tutoring.
 Tutors will be properly compensated.
 The session will last only for 1 hour during weekdays
and 2 hours during weekend.
 And of course, the tutors are required to have a
Lesson Plan for every session.
 The second topic was delivered by a Highly Proficient

of the Academic School Readiness and
Responsiveness Audit.
 It was clearly stated that all schools are required to
conduct an ASRRA to ensure that they are fully
prepared to implement the ARAL Reading based on
the DM 56, s. 2025.
 This ASRRA covers the 5 domains: 1. Learner
Readiness, 2. Teacher readiness, 3. School
environment Readiness, 4. Parent and Community

Governance Readiness.
 Prior to the start of ARAL-Reading, school heads shall
organize orientation session for the learner’s parents
and guardians as well as the learners themselves.
 In addition to, the tutors and learners shall be provided
with relevant materials. These materials shall be
disseminated to schools and tutors prior to the start of
the program.
 Ma’am Lorna also emphasizes that the school shall
conduct LAC Sessions to provide a platform for those
involved in the ARAL Reading to reflect on the
program’s implementation, share strategies and
experiences, discuss challenges and agree on
necessary instructional adjustments.
 The third topic was discussed by Ma’am Jennylind G.
Martillo, Principal II of Pastrana Central School. She
talked about the Instructional Supervision which is one
of the important roles of a school head, defined as a
professional, ongoing, and collaborative process
designed to enhance instruction. It involves

in schools.

organization of ARAL Team including its TOR or
Terms of References which includes their duties and
responsibilities as part of the said program
implementation.
 Implementation of ARAL Program also requires the
making of action plan.
 And the last thing he mentioned was about the sharing
of best practices done during the whole
implementation of the program. The strategies and
approaches used to lessen the number of learners

this will be done during the Hiruhimangraw of teachers.
