2. VISION, MISSION, OBJECIVES, VALUES AND ACTIVITIES OF THE
GROUP
a. Vision
To be the most strategic welfare and investment group in the community
b. Mission
To purposefully engage in welfare and investment projects and transform lives
of members through entrepreneurship and partnership
c. Objectives
To enhance development projects that improve living standards
To enhance unity and understanding among members by exchanging ideas on
matters such as business and others
To promote interest and welfare of members and organize assistance within
and out of the group
Unity is power will partner with bank donors and likeminded organizations to
give its members loans and any other assistance to achieve its mandate

3. MEMBERSHIP
a. Eligibility of members ( age and registration fee )
One must be 18years and above
One shall be a member through the payment of non-refundable registration
fee of Ksh. 200/-
b. Nature of membership ( open / closed )
Open
c. Procedure of joining ( interview / free )
Interview is done to a member
d. Cessation of membership ( produce of removal / departure /
resignation )
Death
Expulsion from the group upon gross misconduct
Withdrawal by writing a letter informing the group
When a child retires from the project and a member decides to quit.
When a member misses three consecutive group sittings, he/she will
write a letter to the group to know their whereabouts or shall be bound
to cessation
Any decision to expel or suspend a member shall be passed by 2/3 ( two
thirds ) votes of members
Being insane
Transferring shares to another member
Notice will therefore be considered after three months and 10% ( ten
percent ) of the shares shall be deducted for the group development
Failure to remit required contributions for a continuous period of six
months without valid reason.

i. Chairperson
Be the overall leader of the group
Be the host of the group visitors and committees
Must be the custodian of the group’s certificates
Must be a signatory to the group’s bank account
She has to do delegation of duties
Maintains law and order in the group
Presides over all meetings of the executive committee general meetings
ii. The vice chairperson
Shall deputize the chair in her absence or when called upon to do so.
iii. Secretary
Shall be responsible for wiring and reading minutes of all such meetings
Shall provide the records in every financial year
Shall forward notices of all meetings either of general meetings or
Executive committee meetings of the group to members
iv. Assistant secretary
Assist the secretary in her absence or when called upon to do so.
v. Treasurer
Shall keep the list of savings contributions of the members of the group
Shall follow up members to make their savings contributions
Shall be responsible to members that proper books of account of all
monies received and paid by the group are written up, preserved and
available for inspection
vi. Committee members shall;
Take any responsibility assigned to them by the group
Be the link between members and other officials
Be members of the Executive committee and shall represent the
members to the Executive committee

6. ELECTIONS

In case of any damage, example, plastic chair for light cracks the group
shall repair
For total damage – it has to be taken to the scrape dealers
Chairs are hired for income after a year any amount raised from them is
shared out.
9. BY-LAWS / RULES & REGULATIONS
a. Penalties
Those members with apologies pays 100/- and those without apologies pays
200/-
Lateness – members will pay 50/-
Three consecutive meetings without any apology;- you must be given a letter
from the group
A member will also inform the grouop about his/her whereabouts in writing

11. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
a. Procedure for handling dispute / conflict within the group
The executive committee shall call and solve the issue(s)
b. Notice periods / duration for resolution of dispute
If it is a serious matter, about three months, a member will be suspended with
a letter
He/she will come back to the group to be accepted after three months
12. AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION
