Directions (6 – 10):In each question below is given a group of letters followed by four
combinations of digits/symbols numbered (1), (2), (3) and (4). You have to find out which of
the combinations correctly represents the group of letters based on the following coding
system and the conditions that follow and mark the number of that combination as your
answer. If none of combinations correctly represents the group of letters, mark (5) i.e. 'None of
these' as your answer.

Conditions:
(i) If the first element is an even digit and the last element is a symbol, both are to be coded as
the code for the even digit.

(ii) If the first element is a symbol and the last element is an odd digit, their codes are to be
interchanged.

(iii) If the first element is an odd digit and the last element is an even digit, both are to be
coded as the code for the odd digit.

(CONDITIONAL BASED TYPE _02):-
Study the following information carefully and answer the question given below.
In a certain code language, The consonants up to M are coded with the first four prime
numbers i.e., B = 2, C = 3, and so on (After 7, start the numbering from 2 again). The
consonants from N to Z are coded with the first four composite numbers i.e., N = 4, P = 6,
and so on (After 9, start the numbering from 4 again). Vowels A, E, I, O, and U are coded as
@, $, %, & and # respectively. The codes are written from left end to right end. If two or
more condition is applicable then consider all the conditions.
Condition 1: If the first and last letters are vowels, then both the codes for the vowels are to
be interchanged and the vowels except them are to be coded as ‘*’. (For example ACTIVE -
$36*8@)
Condition 2: If the second letter of a word is a vowel, then code the letter with the
corresponding code and all the vowels following it will be coded as ‘!’. (For example
TECTONIC – 6$36!4!3)
Condition 3: If the second letter of a word is a consonant, then code the letter with the code
for the alphabet which comes after a gap of 2 letters in the given alphabet series. (i.e., the
code for ‘B’ is the code for ‘E’ and so on, after Z start with A again)
Condition 4: If the first and last letters are consonants, then both the consonants are to be
replaced with the code for the next alphabet in the given alphabet series. (For example,
the code for ‘B’ will be coded with the code for ‘C’ and so on, after Z starts with A again).
Condition 5: If in a word, none of the conditions follows, then code the consonants and
vowels with the corresponding code and then reverse the entire code.
Note:
1. If conditions 2 or 3 and 1 follows, then give first priority to condition 1 and then
condition 2 or 3.
2. If conditions 2 or 3 and 4 follows, then give first priority to condition 4 and then
condition 2 or 3.
3. If more than two conditions follow between conditions 1 to condition 4, then coding will
be done based on the final condition.

TYPE05:- MATRIX CODING
Q1:There is a 4x4 matrix which produces certain signals to operate different bulbs.
The rows of the matrix are #, %, $ and @ from bottom to top and the columns are A, B,
C and D from left to right end. Top row contains numbers which are consecutive
multiple of 5 from 10. Second row from the bottom contains numbers which are
consecutive multiple of 11 from 11. First row from the bottom contains numbers which
are consecutive multiple of 13 from 13. Second row from the top contains numbers which
are consecutive multiples of 15 from 15.
The matrix produce the signal to operate the light bulbs such as Green, Red, Blue and
Yellow.
• If the numeric value of string is between 0 to 20 then Green bulb switches on.
• If the value is between 21 and 60 then Red bulb switches on.
• If the value is between 60 and 100 then Blue bulb switches on.
• If the value is between 100 and 150 then Yellow bulb switches on.
• Except these values the bulb does not operate.
Conditions for Numeric signal values are:
1.If sum of the digits of 1st as well as last number is even, then interchange the 10th digit
& one's digit of all numbers and then add the highest and lowest numbers.

2.If sum of the digits of 1st as well as last number is odd,, then subtract both these
numbers to get the numerical value.

3.If sum of the digits of 1st number is odd and last number is even, then add one's digit of
all the numbers to get the numerical value.

4. If sum of the digits of 1st number is even and last number is odd, then add the 2nd
highest and 2nd lowest number to get numerical values.

Q. Which bulb will switch on for following strings:

(i) @B$C#D%A
(ii) %D$B%C@A
(iii) @D$A%C#A
(iv) #D%B@C$A
Q2:-There is a 3*5 matrix which can produce signals which in turn help in illumination
of some LED lights. The row of the matrix are denoted by #, ^ and $ from bottom to top
and the columns are denoted by the alphabets P, Q, R, S and T from left to right.
# row contains number which are consecutive multiple of 7, starting from 28.
$ row contains number which are consecutive multiple of 13, starting from 13.
^ row contains number which are consecutive multiple of 11, starting from 11.

The matrix helps in producing signals which can be either a single string of number I or
two line string I and J. There are four lights A, B, C and D, based on outcome of the
strings mentioned above one of the light blink.

Conditions:
1. If outcome is greater than 210, then D blinks.
2. If outcome is below 85, then A will blinks.
3. If outcome range is 85-110, then B blinks.
4. If outcome range is 111-210, then C blinks.
For outcome of the string :
1.If an odd number is followed by an even number than the one's places of all the two
digits numbers are deleted and, tenth place are multiplied to get the outcome.
2. If the string contains two prime numbers, then the tenth's place is deleted from each of
the two digit number and remaining number are multiplied.
3. If the string has all even numbers, then outcome of the string is obtained by adding all
the numbers.
4. If no above logic is followed then simple outcome is addition of the numbers.
Note: Only one condition is applied and that too in order they appear in.

1. If I=$R ^S $P # T, then outcome and which LED light blink ?

2. If I=#P #R $S ^Q, then which light blink?
3. If I =$Q #S $P ^P, then which light blink?
Q3:-There is a 5*4 matrix which can produce frequency signals which help in the
illumination of some bulbs. The rows of the matrix are denoted by A, B, C, D and E from
top to bottom respectively and the columns are denoted by #, $, ^ and ! From left to right
respectively. Numbers in each column are a consecutive multiple of 13, 12, 15 and 9
respectively from left to right. The value of C# is 65. The difference of E# and E$ is 7. The
value of C^ is 3/4th of the value of C$. The value of D$ and D! is equal. The value of B! is
24 more than B^.The matrix helps in producing frequency which is a string of numbers.
There are five bulbs maroon, green, white, pink and purple. Based on the outcome of the
string frequency one of the bulbs blinks.
Condition for blink:
I. If the outcome of the string is between 300 and 450 then the pink bulb blinks.
II. If the outcome of the string is between 250 and 275 then the green bulb blinks.
III. If the outcome of the string is between 175 and 225 then the maroon bulb blinks.
IV. If the outcome of the string is between 110 and 150 then the purple bulb blinks.
V. If the outcome of the string is between 45 and 95 then the white bulb blinks.
VI. If none of the above conditions follows then no bulb blinks.
Condition for the outcome of the string:
1.If all the numbers of the string are an even number then resultant frequency can be
obtained by multiplying digit of all two digits numbers.
2.If a second number is a perfect square and the second last number is a multiple of 4 then
the resultant frequency can be obtained by the sum of all two digits numbers.
3.If all the numbers are odd then the resultant frequency can be obtained by multiplying
one's place digit of all the numbers.
4.If a perfect square number is followed by a number which is a multiple of 5 then the
resultant frequency can be obtained by the sum of the product of the digits of the highest
and lowest number.
5.If none of the above condition follows then the resultant frequency can be obtained by
the difference between the highest and lowest number.
6.If more than one string is given then the resultant frequency can be obtained by the
difference between the results of individual strings.
Note: if more than one condition is followed then choose only one as per the order.
