Life is long, we don’t know what karma awaits us, we can never be certain of what will happen. We
absolutely need a set of beliefs and a philosophy to enable us to live our life with Strength and
confidence.
Life is the most precious of all treasures. Even one extra day of life is worth more than 10 million ryo
of gold. One day of life is more valuable than all the treasures.
Viraj – 24-25
The daishonin assures us: the wonderful means of truly putting an end to the physical and spiritual
obstacles of all living beings is none other than chanting nam myo ho renge kyo.
And the sutra known as lotus sutra is good medicine for the various ills of mind and body.
He urges us to summon forth out own life force by chanting NAM MYO HO RENGE KYO with the
determination to triumph over illness. Like a roar of a lion.
Strong faith that enables us to wage battle against illness, without fear and not underestimating
what we’re up against, powerfully draws forth the life state of buddhahood. The spirit of faith in
Nicheren Buddhismis to meet the challenge of illness with our own firm response.
