🎤 Pitch Script (≈ 4 minutes)

Slide 1 – Cover Page

“Hi everyone, my name is [Your Name], and today I’m really excited to share with
you my business idea. It’s all about helping Australian farmers use water smarter
with a new precision irrigation system.”

Slide 2 – Contents
“Here’s a quick overview of what I’ll cover. I’ll start with the concept, then explain the
problem and opportunity, before moving into the solution, market, business model,
financials, ethical side, and finally, what I’m asking for. So, let’s dive straight in.”

Slide 3 – Business Concept

“The concept is pretty simple but powerful: we’re creating an IoT and AI-based
irrigation platform. Farmers place soil sensors in their fields, and the system
automatically analyzes moisture levels and weather data to decide exactly when and
how much to water. This not only saves them money but also supports sustainable
farming practices.”

Slide 4 – Problem & Opportunity

“Now, why is this needed? Well, agriculture in Australia uses about 74% of the
nation’s total water, and a lot of it is wasted. Some studies show up to half of
irrigation water never actually benefits the crops. On top of that, we know Australia
faces frequent droughts, which makes water a really precious resource. So, the
opportunity is huge—farmers need smarter, cost-saving solutions, and the market for
agritech is already growing fast.”

Slide 5 – Solution & Value Proposition

“So, here’s where our solution comes in. By combining soil-moisture sensors with AI
analytics, farmers can cut water use by up to 30–50%, without losing yield. In fact,
many pilots around the world have already shown results like these. What makes our
system stand out is that it’s affordable, it’s easy to use, and it’s designed with
Australian conditions in mind. That means farmers get both lower costs and more
reliable harvests.”

Slide 6 – Target Market & Size

“Moving on to the market, we’re mainly targeting medium to large irrigated
farms—think cotton, orchards, and vegetables. Just in Australia, the agri-IoT market
is worth about 900 million US dollars today and is projected to grow to 1.4 billion by
2030. Our initial focus will be on the Murray–Darling Basin, which is responsible for
about half of the country’s irrigated agriculture. So, there’s a strong base of potential
customers who really need this.”
Slide 7 – Business Model & Revenue Streams
“Now, how do we make money? We’ll sell the hardware—the sensor kits—at around
500 dollars per unit, and then we’ll charge a monthly subscription of about 30 to 50
dollars for the analytics platform. So, it’s a combination of one-time and recurring
revenue. And to reach customers, we’ll work with agricultural equipment dealers and
co-ops, so farmers can access it through the channels they already trust.”

Slide 8 – Financials
“Alright, let’s talk money. We expect to break even by the end of the second year,
once we’ve sold around 200 units. For investors, the return is also attractive. We’re
looking at about two to three times ROI by year three, mainly because of the
recurring subscription revenue. If we hit our targets, our valuation could be around 4
to 5 million dollars by the end of year two.”

Slide 9 – Ethical & Social Implications

“Of course, a business like this isn’t just about profits. It’s also about the bigger
picture. By saving water, we’re contributing to sustainability goals and helping
farmers adapt to climate change. We’re also creating jobs in agritech and supporting
food security. And on the ethical side, we’re making sure farmer data is secure and
the pricing model is fair enough that smaller farms can also benefit.”

Slide 10 – Final Ask & Next Steps

“So here’s my ask. We’re seeking 300,000 Australian dollars in seed funding. This
will go towards completing our prototype, running pilot trials with farmers, and setting
up an initial sales team. In return, we’re offering around 15% equity. With this
support, we’re confident we can deliver strong returns while also making a positive
impact on water use in agriculture.”

Slide 11 – References
“These are the main sources that support the data and frameworks I’ve mentioned,
including government reports, market research, and entrepreneurship models.”

Slide 12 – Thank You

“And that brings me to the end. Thank you so much for listening, and I’d love to take
any questions.”
