Backend Engineer - Python

algorithms optimized for efficient computing on distributed systems.
We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Backend
Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-
side logic of our web platform. Your primary focus will be on building efficient, scalable, and
secure back-end systems that power our web platform for astrodynamics calculations. You
will work closely with astrodynamics engineers and other developers to ensure seamless
integration between the front-end and back-end components.

Responsibilities:
• Build the space situational awareness platform with clean, modular, and well-
documented code that complies with best practices and coding standards.
• Team up with astrodynamics engineers to fine-tune their algorithms to optimize
computation time and resource utilization.
• Integrate the astrodynamics algorithms in a distributed architecture into the backend
to further reduce the computation time.
• Work with UX designers and API developers to implement intricate information
architectures that can handle large amounts of data.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth functionality across different
systems.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for
improvement.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and
workflows.

We are ideally looking for someone experienced in the following areas:
• Backend: Distributed Scalable Platforms. Hands-on experience in large-scale data
platforms, performance-oriented architecture, and code writing/optimization in
Python.
• Strong CS foundation: Data structures, algorithms, design patterns, network
protocols. Good OS knowledge.
Required Qualifications
• Two or more years of experience in Backend Development.
• Proficiency in Python, with a focus on writing clean and scalable code.
• Solid understanding of backend development principles best practices.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development
workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-
technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualities
• Experience with designing and implementing systems that utilize queuing
mechanisms.
• Experience with RabbitMQ and its integration with Python.
• Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for backend systems with
large amounts of data.
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless integration with various
client applications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and their performance optimization techniques (e.g.,
AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Code optimization of Python using Cython or any other technique.
