Textbook: Limba moderna 1 – Limba Engleza
Level: Pre-Intermediate
Unit: 6b Grammar – First Conditional
Timing: 50 min
Date: May 10 2022
Teacher: Stancu George
School: Brahasesti Secondary School, GL

Aim of lesson: By the end of the lesson the students will know how to detect and
form the first type of the conditional clauses.

Objectives:
O1: to enrich their vocabulary
O2: to solve exercises using the new information
O3: to use the new phrases in productions of their own
O4: to make suggestions based on several problems some people might have.

Aids: - textbook
- blackboard
- video projector

Methods: conversation, explanation, pair work, individual work,


INTRODUCTION:
- see who’s present (2’)

ACTIVITY 1: Familiarizing students with the new content (O1) (10’)


Procedure: Teacher asks students to open books at page 99, then writes
the title on the board. After that he tells S to read a small dialogue on the page,
then explains the formation and uses of the first and so-called zero conditional
clauses.

ACTIVITY 2: Writing and reading (O2) (19’)


Procedure: There are three tasks on the page focusing on the subject
matter, first with conditional forming, second with the usage of “unless”
conjunction, and the last one with distinguishing between the zero and first
conditionals. Teachers solves one item in each task as example then S do the
rest. Some examples will also be written on the board.

ACTIVITY 3: Speaking (O3, O4) (10’)


Procedure: Teacher turns on the video projector then displays a five-
minute material in which several dual choice sentences appear. T nominates a S
for each sentence, tell S to read it aloud, make a choice, then provide a reason.

HOMEWORK: (1’)
Teacher asks students to create ten sentences which shall include the first
conditional clause.
