* PRAYER
Everybody please stand and let us pray.
Amen.
* GREETINGS
Good afternoon class!
Good afternoon ma’am!
How are you?
We are fine ma’am. How about you ma’am?
I’m better than yesterday!
Before you take your seat kindly pick up the
trashes under your chairs and put it in the
trash cans.
Are you all done?
Yes ma’am!
*CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
Class may I know who are absent today?
None ma’am!
Very good! Perfect Attendance!
*CLASSROOM RULES

We have classroom rules to follow:
1. Listen when others are talking.
2. Raise your hand to speak.
3. Be nice to others.
Did you understand class?
Yes ma’am!
ENGAGE
Who can recall our previous lesson?
Our previous lesson is about energy and
Very good! force.
Let's have a short review. What is energy,
and how does force affect objects?
Energy is the ability to do work, and force is
a push or pull that can move, stop, or change

Now look at this picture
Have you ever used or seen this tool before?
What do you think it is used for? Yes, ma’am! It’s a wheelbarrow

EXPLORE
Before we proceed to our lesson, I want you
to find a partner!
Who among you doesn’t have a partner yet? None ma’am!
Each partner will be given one (1) picture
and observe the pictures.
After observing, answer the following
questions:
1. What do you see in the picture?
2. How do you think this tool helps us?

EXPLAIN
Today we are going to talk about the simple
machines and its different kinds.
What are Simple Machines? Kindly read
Simple machines are basic mechanical
devices that help make work easier by
reducing the effort needed to move objects.
Very good!
These are machines that need a help with an
individual person and joints to move or work.
There are six kinds of simple machine, these
are; lever, inclined plane, wedge, pulley,
wheel and axle, screw.
We have the first kind of simple machine, the
Lever
Lever – A rigid bar that pivots around a fixed
point (fulcrum) to lift or move a load.
Example of a lever is a seesaw in a
playground or a crowbar used to lift
Levers can be found in different forms, such something heavy.
as first-class (seesaw), second-class
(wheelbarrow), and third-class (tweezers).
What are the examples for lever?
Very good! Seesaw, scissors, and crowbar ma’am!
Next kind is Inclined Plane
Inclined Plane – A flat surface tilted at an
angle that helps move objects up or down
with less effort.
Example: A ramp used for loading heavy

reduces the effort needed to lift objects by
increasing the distance over which the force

is applied. Instead of lifting a load straight up,
an inclined plane allows for gradual
elevation.
Third kind is Wedge
Wedge – A device with one or two sloping
sides that helps split, cut, or holds objects in
place.
Example: A knife cutting through food or an
A wedge is essentially two inclined planes axe splitting wood.
put together. It is used to split or cut
materials by concentrating force on a small
area. The sharper the wedge, the easier it is
to cut or split an object.
Next is Screw
Screw- is an inclined plane wrapped around
a cylinder. It converts rotational force into
linear motion, allowing objects to be held
together securely or lifted with less effort.
Example: A bottle cap with screw threads
An inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder, helps seal the bottle tightly.
used to hold objects together or lift materials.
Another is Wheel and Axle
Wheel and Axle- This machine consists of a
large wheel attached to a smaller axle. When
force is applied to the wheel, it reduces
friction and allows movement with less effort.
Example: A bicycle wheel helps transport
A wheel attached to a central rod (axle) that people with minimal force.
helps move objects easily.
Lastly is Pulley
Pulley is a wheel with a rope or chain
wrapped around it, used to lift or move
objects. It can be fixed (changes the
direction of force) or movable (reduces
effort). Pulley systems can also be combined
for greater mechanical advantage.
