BASIC SCIENCES
Professor:
i. Qualification:
a. MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC AND
b. FCPS/Ph.D or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective
Basic Science subject OR
c. Mphil or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective Basic
Science subject.
ii. Experience: Three (03) years teaching experience as Associate Professor in the
respective basic science subject or nine (09) years teaching experience as Assistant
Professor and Associate Professor in the respective Basic Science subject.
iii. Research Publication: At least fifteen (15) research publications (among which at
least three (03) should be as Associate Professor) are required in the respective basic
science subject. Only an original article published in a medical journal approved by
the PM& DC/PMC shall be acceptable. Dissertation/ Thesis shall not be accepted as
research publication.
Associate Professor:
i. Qualification:
a. MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC AND
b. FCPS/Ph.D or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective
basic Science subject OR
c. Mphil or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective basic
Science subject.
ii. Experience: Five (05) years teaching experience as Lecturer/Demonstrator/Assistant
Professor in the respective basic science subject.
Lecturer/Demonstrator experience will be counted as below;
Before post-graduation: 4:1
After post-graduation 2:1
(Total experience of lecturer/Demonstrator will not be more then 2 and half years)
iii. Research Publication: At least Seven (07) Research publications (among which at
least Two (02) should be as Assistant Professor) are required in the respective Basic
Science subject. Only an original article published in a medical journal approved by
the PM& DC/PMC shall be acceptable.
Dissertation/ Thesis shall not be accepted as research publications.
Assistant Professor:
i. Qualification:
a. MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC AND
b. FCPS/Ph.D or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective
basic Science subject OR
c. Mphil or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective basic
Science subject.
ii. Experience: Two (02) years teaching experience as Lecturer/Demonstrator before or
after level-IIb or one (01) year teaching experience as lecturer/Demonstrator before
or after level-III in the respective basic science subject.
Demonstrator/Lecturer:
i. Qualification:
MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC
CLINICAL SCIENCES:
Associate Professor:
i. Qualification:
a. MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC AND
b. FCPS/MS/MD or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective
Clinical Science subject
ii. Experience: Five (05) years teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the
respective Clinical science subject.
iii. Research Publication: At least seven (07) research publications (among which at
least two (02) should be as an Assistant Professor) are required in the respective
clinical science subject. Only an original article published in a medical journal
approved by the PM& DC/PMC shall be acceptable. Dissertation/ Thesis shall not be
accepted as research publication.
Assistant Professor:
i. Qualification:
a. MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC AND
b. FCPS/MS/MD or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in respective
Clinical Science subject
ii. Experience: At least two (02) years experience in the relevant clinical subject in a
recognized teaching hospital.
iii. Research Publication: At least two (02) research publications are required in the
respective clinical science subject. Only an original article published in a medical
journal approved by the PM& DC/PMC shall be acceptable. Dissertation/ Thesis shall
not be accepted as research publication.
Assistant Professor Accident & Emergency (A&E):
i. Qualification:
a. MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification fully recognized/Registered by
PM&DC/PMC AND
b. FCPS/MS/MD or equivalent qualification with other nomenclature in A&E
(FRCEM/American Board Emergency Medicine/MRCEM)
(Experience in the relevant clinical subject i.e A&E in a recognized teaching hospital
will be preferred).
