1. intersectionality (same love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis) this song

represents intersectionality because it describes various areas of race, gender

identity and universal of love.

2. imperialism “yankee go home”-Canadian Anti-Trump. Shows in the song that

American is seeking imperial power to control other countries.

3. gender. “ I am a Woman” by Helen Reddy. This song shows female strength and

challenges women face in society.

4. hierarchy “ oh, the strata of society” this song describes the hierarchy of Roman

society in status.

5. critical thinking “don’t stop believing” by journey talks about real life challenges

and to find solutions to them by believing you can make it out.

6. liberatory thinking “Redemption song” Bob Marley. This song represents

liberators thinking by encouraging listeners to break free from mental and

physical containment or restraint from our minds.

7. capitalism “money” Pink Floyd talks about the greed of wealth and money.

Represents being trapped in capitalism.

8. abolition “the song of abolitionist” is a song that represents the call for resistance

and talks about abolition.


9. solidarity “solidarity forever” by Ralph Chaplin. This song represents solidarity

during the labor movement for workers during the era and social justice

movements.

10. collective liberation “we shall overcome” this song was sung during protests

which provides a message of hope over social injustice.
