JANUARY 2013 | VERSION 1

BOOK OF COMMITMENT OF

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Our people are our most valuable asset and must

to be protected from the risks of our industry
and the environment in which we operate. Our goal
There should be neither serious nor fatal accidents.
To achieve this, we have developed a program of
action to eliminate such accidents and thus
improve our performance in security in all
our operations.
This program is called TrabajoSeguro.
One of the main initiatives of TrabajoSeguro
to demonstrate to employees and contractors in
our operations how to identify and treat
the deadly hazards in your workplace.
The following manual aims to create an alert
around critical behaviors that save
lives and the most common deadly dangers that
they prevail throughout our operations.
Similarly, summarize the key elements of the
protocols that we will apply and maintain
gradually throughout our business.
A more detailed publication can be found
available in a separate document called
Glencore Behaviors That Save Lives and
Protocols for Deadly Hazards.
The loss of a life or an injury in our
operations is totally unacceptable. Every person
What enters our operations has the right
to conclude your day and return home safely without a
incident or injury.

behavior, to protect ourselves and protect our
colleagues every day; without exception and without excuses.

Fatal accidents can be avoided, I am

asking for everyone's commitment to work

BEHAVIORS THAT SAVE

LIVES

What are Life-Saving Behaviors?

They are a group of nine Behaviors that
they have a direct connection to incidents and lessons
previous learnings, where the
violated behaviors right before it happens
a fatal incident.
Everyone at Glencore (employees, contractors,
visitors, etc.) should be familiar with
these Life-Saving Behaviors and governing oneself
for them at all times. They must be considered
our usual way of working.
The foundation of the Behaviors that
Saving Lives is that all of us at Glencore
we have the right to work in an environment
safe and back home unharmed and without injuries.
All breaches of the
Behaviors that Save Lives will be
investigated in an impartial, fair, and timely manner.
We all must understand clearly
that the deliberate non-compliance with said
behaviors will result in processes
disciplinary actions that may lead to dismissal.
