FAITH FOR THE OWN DOMAIN

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of
own domain.

OBJECTIVES: Understand that:

One of the greatest virtues a human being can show is self-control.

The spirit of self-control is only given by God.
There is greater gain in surrendering our will to God than in following our own.
Communion with the Holy Spirit assures us victory.
A firm faith in the Word will help us see new realities.

INTRODUCTION

King Solomon in the proverbs acknowledges how impressive it can be.

the power to control oneself when it is mentioned that it is better to achieve it than to be able
to conquer a city (Prov. 16:32)

It also makes us reflect on the danger that it poses for a person not to be able to
to master oneself, he compares it to a city without walls (Prov. 25:28), that is,
exposed to danger, defenseless against any attack.

How many times have we faced the problem mentioned by the apostle Paul in
Romans 7:19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.
sometimes we feel overwhelmed by anger, by impatience, by fear, etc. but God
He knows our weaknesses and understands us, but beyond His understanding, He
wants to show himself as our helper, whoever has him has the only effective solution to
this is bad.

DEVELOPMENT

1. GIVING OUR LIFE TO CHRIST. God gave us will, we have to

give it to him. Jesus said: but not my will but yours be done (Luke 22:42). God
God gave humanity free will, the ability to choose between good and evil, between
to obey him or disobey him. When we give our life to Christ, we are
making the decision to believe in him and to him, and it is a point at which we yield our
will to yours, this, in the absolute confidence that your thoughts are
better than ours.
It is a fact that human beings will never be able to overcome all their weaknesses on their own,
to master your desires, it is necessary to have the help of God (His Holy Spirit) to
achieve it.
That is why the first step we must take to be able to master our own
weaknesses is to ask for your help and commit to following your path, following your
instructions, doing things their way and not ours.

2. BELIEVE IN THE WORD OF GOD. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life.
Everything that His Word says is the absolute truth and for those who practice it produces
life, that is why we must read it daily with all the attention it deserves
and to believe and obey Him, which will yield the best results we can hope for.
a. Who will deliver me from this body of death? Rom. 7:24 The Apostle Paul
make this expression, and he himself gives us the answer when he says: I give thanks
to God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!
This is a truth that breaks the slavery we had to sin and to the
death, Jesus through the redemptive work on the cross, has delivered to us his
nature, that by which we are capable of overcoming trials and temptations.
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
b. Spirit of Self-Control. 2 Timothy 1:7 God has given us the Holy Spirit

it will help us if we do it this way, but it will not have the same effect as when
we have a life of continuous communion.
Living a life in the spirit, a life of communion has to do with:
‹ Reading of the Word. 2 Timothy 3:16 speaks to us about how wonderful it is.
The Word, thus teaches us so many things such as, who is
God, what is his language, his promises, his principles; he reproves us,
corrects us and instructs us, shows us the path we must follow
so that we do not err. It is necessary to remember that the world and its desires are
temporary things, but whoever does the will of the Father will live forever.
Whoever treasures it and applies it lives in victory.

It's important to have time alone with God, but we should not do it alone.

within ourselves, meditating on His Word. The more time we spend
with him, more will be reflected in us.

Always seek to do the will of the Father and never let the enemy dominate you.
thoughts because from there you must win the battle.

Let's take care of our thoughts.

We demolish arguments against the knowledge of God and
taking captive every argument to the obedience of Christ.

b. Overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 Let us do what God commands.

let's ask the help of the Holy Spirit not to keep things in our hearts
incorrect.

CONCLUSION
It is necessary to believe God in order to walk in victory; without faith, it is impossible to win battles.
Let us remember that everything born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has
