For my projects, I always finish each round with a slip stitch and
chain one to ensure the best shape and form. If you crochet in a
spiral without joining rounds, certain sections may become
misaligned and not match the intended pattern.
ENDING THE ROUND WITH A SLIP STITCH – A GUIDE

Steps to Properly End a Round with a Slip Stitch:

1️⃣ Mark the First Stitch:
Use a stitch marker to mark your first crochet stitch to ensure
correct placement.
2️⃣ Slip Stitch to End the Round:
Insert the needle through the first stitch.
Pull the yarn through to complete the slip stitch. (See Images 2,
3, 4)
Gently tighten the slip stitch.
3️⃣ Chain Stitch and Continue:
Yarn over and pull through to create a chain stitch.
Then, insert your hook back into the same stitch where you made
the slip stitch and start the next round. (See Images 5-11)
You can refer to the instructional video: Click here
Here are some notes after finishing a round: chain 1 for SC and HDC, chain 2 for DC,
chain 3 for TR or TRC.
