gender, the environment and sustainability, human values, and
professional ethics. As part of the curriculum, with the active role of NSS,
NCC, YRC, Scouts & Guides, Heritage Club, RRB, etc., good number of
extra curricular activities are been planned throughout the year on cross
cutting issues.
1. Gender Sensitivity:
The cross cutting issues pertaining to Gender sensitivity is reflected in
some of the courses. The Women Empowerment Cell, Anti-ragging,
Prevention of Sexual harassment cell arrange awareness lectures from
prominent personalities. The cells organize programmes such as
International Women's Day, Fun Fair, Food Fest and other cultural
activities related to women.
Through Quality Circles, free counseling services are made available. The
NSS Unit organizes gender sensitization camps in rural and slum
communities. The camps organize lectures on a variety of topics, including
gender equity and sensitivity, women's rights, human rights, children's
rights, and gender justice. Even literature classes in language disciplines
cover these topics.
Many forums of our college union host webinars, conferences, guest

related events are commemorated annually.
3. Human Values and Professional Ethics:
Language-based literature is effective at instilling moral principles in both
students and faculty. The inauguration and valedictory ceremonies are
blessed by His Holiness Guru Mahant Swamiji Chittaragi Samsthan
Math, Ilkal at our institution in addition to the curriculum. His
inspirational remarks bestow blessings on our students. Our students are
inspired by the holy pontiffs, saints, and swamijis who are requested to
speak to our students on morality, ethics, and values. To help the students
understand their civic responsibilities, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers
are sent to various camps and sports. The NSS unit frequently hosts social
and cultural events in the campus and the areas it has adopted.
Truthful information, facts, and an objective perspective are among the
professional ethical practices that are covered in the course material. For
B.A. and B.Sc. III semester students, "Personality Development and
Communication Skills" is made pre requisite curriculum. The purpose of
EDPS is to raise knowledge of professional ethics, for the students of
Commerce. The Women Empowerment Cell, Science Forum, IQAC,
Career Guidance and Placement Cell hold regular free coaching sessions
for students preparing for competitive exams. The sample supporting

necessary infrastructural facilities and also enhanced good number of
learning resources at the Central Library. The college employs a teaching
strategy that places a strong emphasis on educating students first. In
addition to enhancing students’ confidence and promoting independence,
this practice helps students in transition from being treated as passive
recipients to active participants. It is impossible to fulfill the needs and
expectations of individual students in a teacher centric class and expect a
consistent learning outcome from them all since students differ in their
capacity for comprehension and absorption. The teacher encourages
learning by ensuring that each student participates in class room activities
so that they can individually understand at their own level and process
material at their own pace.
Our college supports the use of student-centric methodologies as a part of
participatory learning and problem-solving methodologies to increase
student involvement. Case studies, group projects, debates, seminars,
quizzes, role plays, project works, field visits, industrial visits, special
lectures and use of ICT in class rooms are examples of specifically student-
centric teaching methods.
Experiential Learning: College has well configured 2 computer
laboratory, well equipped science laboratories, Language laboratory,
Business lab, in which students are given optimum scope to experiment
based on course curriculum.
Field Trips and Industrial Visits: Academically significant field trips and
industrial visits are regularly identified and proposed by the faculty.
Departments plan and coordinate students’ visits to businesses to make
them exposed to practical world.
Special Lectures: To bolster the instructional process and offer hands-on
learning, special lectures by notable professionals are planned.
Participatory Education: Role play is a technique that teachers and
students as well use particularly in class rooms, camps and other outdoor

activities.
Team Work: All departments along with NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides,
Heritage Club and Youth Red Cross organize student centric activities to
promote the spirit of team work and institutional social responsibility.
Village adoption, plantation, cleaning the historical monuments,
Swachacha Bharat Abhiyana, rallies etc. are organized to enhance the
team spirit.
Debates: Debates are held in various subjects to provide a variety of view
points and cognitive processes which justify the learning process as an
argumentative one.
Group Work: Under the direction of teachers, practicals and workshops
are also conducted as part of group work.
Problem Solving Methodology: The grievances of the students are
collected with anonymity, analyzed and put for solution through quality
circle meetings. This approach increases students’ capacity for
understanding their grievances.
Use of ICT: Teachers of our college use ICT tools such as CDs, DVDs,
CCD projectors, smart boards, tabs. Use of INFLIBNET is in practice.
The use of ICT by both teachers and students in class rooms enables
students to keep pace with contemporary digital and virtual world.
Campus Wi-Fi and free internet access encourage the practice of
independent study.
Discussion and Quizzes: Our college uses discussion and quizzes for
learning since it encourages students to think critically to gauge their level
of understanding.
Research Projects: Under the supervision of senior faculty, research
activities are carried out in each department instilling research aptitude
among the students.

behind receive individual mentoring. Along with session tests, students are
given assignments, seminars and projects. This approach helps students in
their overall development. Thus, the internal assessment process is
transparent and reliable.
Mechanism of External Assessment: Parent University declares the
schedule of external examination. The Registrar (Evaluation) appoints a
deputy external superintendent to a college to ensure smooth and
transparency in examinations along with an internal examiner. Apart
from this, various squad teams are constituted for ensuring zero
malpractice in examination. Once the schedule for examinations is out
from the university, the Principal holds meeting with the staff members
for systematic functioning of examinations. Technological assistance i.e.
Oasis, Uniclare and UUCMS software has been in use to facilitate the
exam related information. Results are declared online and students access
them on their finger tip.
Grievances Redressal Sytem: For this, three tier system is in function.
Department Level: The results of the examinations are analyzed.
Grievances of students related to exams are discussed with HODs and
faculty members.
College Level: Unresolved grievances at department level are brought to
the notice of examination committee.
University Level: Photocopy of answer scripts, re-totaling, re-evaluation

To prevent the soil erosion.
To enhance pollution free campus.
To attract the students at the entry level.
The Context:
Our college is surrounded with 27 acres of land with the built up area of
39068.67 Sq.mtrs. The Hunagund is a drought prone, arid area, which
always suffers with the scarcity of water. Good number of students
enrolled hailed from agriculture oriented family but they are lacking the
awareness of greenery initiatives. The greenery atmosphere can be
created purely based on sufficient water facility through borewell, well,
lakes, etc. College is surrounded with 2 borewells with sufficient water
flow. College has taken initiatives in forming a cell called Environ, with
the core objectives of promoting greenery initiatives and thereby creating
conducive atmosphere in the campus and attracting good number of
fauna to the campus. The Department of Botany taken the initiatives and
