1. Test Overview
1.1 Background
Transportable Tactical Command Communications (T2C2) is a Program of Record (POR) that will provide agile robust voice
and data communications in the early phases of joint operations and in later operational phases at the tactical edge. The air-
droppable T2C2 Lite (T2C2-L) and T2C2 Heavy (T2C2-H) high-bandwidth satellite terminals will enable early entry forces access, via
satellite, to the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) network to obtain the situational awareness and mission command
capabilities needed to conduct entry operations and set the stage for follow-on force. In more mature operations T2C2-H will provide
high bandwidth tactical network extension to company level and small forward operating bases and T2C2-L will support special
teams in austere locations with high bandwidth requirements.
UNCLASSIFIED//FOUO
T2C2 provides satellite capability to small detachments and teams operating in remote locations without network
infrastructure, enabling them to securely relay critical and time sensitive information, increasing the situational awareness for the
entire operation. By taking advantage of military satellite capability, the system greatly increases throughput over currently fielded
capability. Because the T2C2 solution is inflatable, it can provide a larger dish size, with increased capability and bandwidth
efficiency, in a smaller transport package. These highly expeditionary inflatable satellite antennas provide the commander with
increased operational flexibility and speed in maneuver.
1.2 Introduction
PM Tactical Network (PM TN) Field Engineers will validate all T2C2 systems during the allocated VALEX timeline. This
document represents the various test threads that must be conducted prior to New Equipment Training (NET). Representatives from
each stakeholder to include PM TN, CECOM TSD and the Army Unit being equipped, will sign off for each test thread within the
document to ensure systems have been validated appropriately.
All systems will be configured with Tactical Network Initialization & Configuration (TNIC) provided configurations and data
products. Additionally, systems will also be configured with the latest quarterly updates which includes vital security patches and
information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and software in accordance with PM TN PdM SATCOM T2C2 Configuration
Management (CM). This configuration phase will either take place at the T2C2 Integration Facility located in Augusta, GA or at the
site of the VALEX.
Following configuration, all systems will then be capable to join a Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN)
through satellite transmission. T2C2-L is comprised of a 1.2 M inflatable satellite antennae (ISA) leveraging an iDirect e850 Evolution
modem. T2C2-H is comprised of a 2.4 M ISA leveraging an L3 Linkabit MPM-2000 modem operating Network Centric Waveform
(NCW).

2.3 Test Cases
2.3.I T2C2 Test Cases
2.3.I.I Compact Uninterruptable Power Supply (CUPS) Power Failover
Test Case Details
Description/ CUPS Power Failover test demonstrates the ability for the system to operate on
Objective DC power in case of an external power source failure.
Method 1. Verify system is grounded to an appropriate ground source.
2. Ensure BB-2590 batteries located in CUPS are fully charged.
3. Verify system is currently powered from an external power source and
verify that the CUPS LED “INP” is green.
4. Ensure power DCIU knobs are turned to “BUC & LNB” to ensure system is
powering RF components.
5. Verify modem is in network.
6. Unplug the system from the external power source.
Expected Results Modem should remain in the network without interruption and ISA should remain
inflated.

2.3.I.II Secure Shell (SSHv2)
Test Case Details
Description/Objective SSHv2 test validates that each NDM can establish an SSH session with each network
device and the list is populated within Putty.
Method 1. Select the Putty application on the desktop.
2. Verify each network device is listed in the “Saved Sessions” window with
the proper TNIC device name.
3. Validate that an SSH connection can be established with each device
listed.
Expected Results Putty application should establish an SSH connection with each network device.
