1. Identification

Use: Surface coating in ceramics (glaze application).

2. Hazard(s) Identification
Contains crystalline silica (respirable), which is a known cancer hazard by inhalation.
Contains Barium Carbonate: Harmful if swallowed, may cause gastrointestinal and muscular
effects.
Contains Zinc Oxide: May be harmful if inhaled in high concentrations; can cause metal fume
fever.
Dust may cause respiratory irritation. Use personal protective equipment.

3. Composition/Information on Ingredients
Main components: Frit, Silica, Kaolin, Feldspar, Zircon, Barium Carbonate, Zinc Oxide,
Colorants (oxides).
Hazardous components:
- Crystalline Silica (0-25&) (CAS: 14808-60-7): Carcinogenic via inhalation.
- Barium Carbonate (0-4%) (CAS: 513-77-9): Toxic if ingested.
- Zinc Oxide (0-2%) (CAS: 1314-13-2): Can cause respiratory irritation; high-temperature
exposure may produce fumes.
4. First-Aid Measures
Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.
Skin contact: Wash with water.
Eye contact: Rinse with water.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth and seek immediate medical advice if barium is suspected.

Non-flammable. Use extinguishing methods suitable for surrounding materials.

Avoid generating dust. Sweep or vacuum spilled material using appropriate PPE.

Inhalation of dust containing crystalline silica may cause serious lung damage (silicosis) and
is a known carcinogen.
Barium Carbonate is toxic if swallowed and may cause muscle weakness, vomiting, or
paralysis.
Zinc Oxide dust or fumes may cause metal fume fever with flu-like symptoms.
Use appropriate PPE and avoid inhalation or ingestion.
