Riocontra, the art of speaking "backwards"

or "on the contrary"), but there is also the reverse of the suburbs of Buenos Aires. In Italy there are
instead less developed varieties, with slightly different rules from those of the Riocontra, such as the
Epic trancorioche of the Brescian area.

The Riocontra defines itself as a 'low tongue' ("lingua dal basso"), predominantly spoken by those who

The inversion of the Riocontra does not change the pronunciation of the individual syllables and sounds, as happens
instead in French Verlan.
The easiest way to counteract words is to use 'the Cesempli method', to be adopted for
two-syllable words (“short”) and three-syllable words (“medium”). Short words simply require
the inversion of the syllables: "dog" –neca, "fool" –mosce, "disgust" –foschi, "slut" –iatro.
average words, using the Cesempli method, are instead created by shifting the last syllable
at the beginning while the first two form a single block: "kissing" - rebacia, "pleasure" - repiace,
sweep - broom.
As you will observe, all examples did not present double consonants, as these
they deserve a separate discussion. The Riocontra, normally, has no doubles: "old" - it rains,
"sbirro" - rosbi, "babbo" - boba. In some cases, however, the double can also be maintained at the beginning

Another question that was discussed at length concerned the expression of gender ('masculine' and
"feminine") and number ("singular" and "plural") in Riocontra.
In the transition from language to slang, some words lose the distinction of gender with just
realization of the masculine that also applies to the feminine. It happens indeed: the Topela – the Topela
(“pelato/a”), ilboba– laboba(“babbo/a”), ilRosbi– laRosbi(“sbirro/a”), ilFepro– laFepro
("professor/a"), loZopa– laZopa("crazy"), ilChiove– laChiove("old"). In other cases, it
keep instead the declension of names between masculine and feminine, as in: ilPot – laPat

In Riocontra, singular and plural tend to become confused and almost always resist like
the unique form is the singular: ilTopela – iTopela (“peeled/s”), ilfoschia – ifoschia (“slap/s”)
Rosbi - iRosbi ("cop/i"), ilFoba - iFoba ("moustache/i", referring to the person who wears them), the
Gafi - leGafi ("fig" and "figs"), laRabi - leRabi ("beer/"s). However, there are some interesting
exceptions, since in some words a suffix in sibilant (/s/ or /z/) can be added to the singular
graphically represented with -s) or alveolar affricate (/ts/ graphically represented with -z) to transform it into
plural.

These are basically the basic rules for structuring sentences typical of a
"lotranqui". We can observe its main characteristics among the different sentence structures that
we have collected (for which we are also provided with their translation in Italian):

Notes: the 'lotranqui' have formulated very simple sentences, mainly drawing from
vocabolario diseba(gafi,lobe,rabi,darme,topela,neca,gosu,tofa,tefra,togela,tasba,drema,
(di) tobru, zoca, nobambi, foschia, foschi, boba(z), ozi, sope, zome, novi, zapi). We can notice the
total absence of tetrasyllabic words ('long') in Riocontra: in fact, the word 'Tavernello' remains
unaltered. It is interesting to note the absolute prevalence of nouns and adjectives among the terms
they are rare, while there are few verbs: we only notice the occurrences of ditabu, tomangia, toscopa,
repicchia, refumaerefrega. But there were different other verb structures that can be re-contracted, which are
però rimaste inalterate: “svegliarsi”, “passa”, “parla”, “presento”, “guarda”, “prendi”, “andiamo”,
"(you) called", "to draw". Several of the transformed words are characteristic of Milanese slang.

In reality, the fundamental words of the Supertofe seem to be nothing more than words.

The accent in the words Riocontra


The words Riocontra reward flat words, in which the accent falls on the penultimate syllable. The

which are not characteristics of Riocontra, but in a broader sense of street slang: tspa
