Sizing of Leaching Piles

This document presents the sizing of a leaching pile of 30 TMS with a grade of 1.4% Cu and a recovery of 80%. It calculates the dimensions of the pile (214.6m wide), the irrigation area (27901.2m2), and the required flow rates. It also sizes the irrigation system, composed of 65 lines of 112cm in diameter each and 1776 sprinklers. Finally, it sizes the drainage system with 335 ducts of 4.4cm and 3 collection gutters.

Sizing of the slab floor.

For this type of sizing, it is done based on the number of piles that are
they were employed and the area they cover. The land has the characteristic of being compacted
and leveled with slopes between 0.5 - 1%; on top of this, a layer of fine material will be placed
30cm thick reinforced, whose purpose is to protect the waterproof layer from incrustations of
materials, stones from the floor to the top, on this layer of material will be placed the
high-density polyethylene folder (1.5 to 2 mm thick).

The flow or drip of the sprinkler must fulfill the function of not causing the
generation of fines, caused by the breakdown of the agglomerates, that is why
the sprinkler must have an even watering and the dripping should not be affected by
adverse conditions.
