DEFINITION
The Peruvian Banco de Crédito (BCP) is the largest bank in the country and forms
part of the local financial conglomerate Credicorp. BCP offers a wide range
of banking products and services for individuals, SMEs, and companies, such as
also for government entities, microfinance institutions, and organizations
international. Its wholesale banking division encompasses the operations of
business, corporate, and institutional banking. Their services and products
includes leasing, corporate financing, foreign trade and services for
companies. The bank also provides a range of retail banking services
such as mortgage loans, credit cards, savings products, and
products for SMEs including revolving credit, fixed credit, leasing and
financing of fixed assets. Their asset management solutions include

BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

In the year 2002, the Bank underwent a corporate identity change with the

Distribution channels aim to continue with the banking process


through the incorporation of segments currently not served by the

Marketing Division.

Asset Management
is responsible for the functions of Trusts, Securities Custody,
Portfolio Management and Securities Intermediation.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

As of June 30, 2009, BCP's net profit totaled S/.538.7 million.

mainly from i) a greater accumulation of provisions due to deterioration

The following are the main profitability indicators of

114% compared to the first half of 2008 due to growth in the

10%.
Operating expenses as of June 2009 were S/.756.4 million, 25%
higher than those recorded in the same period of the previous year, in line with the
growth of the network of agencies and other customer service channels of the Bank. The

efficiency ratio measured through the indicator operating expenses / income


financials rose from 48.7% to 53.7% between June 2008 and June 2009,
similarly, the efficiency of the bank measured as gross placements / number of
personal decreased from S/.1.93 million to S/.1.91 million during that period.

As a consequence of the reduction in the benchmark rate established by the


BCR, the bank quickly adjusted its passive interest rates, which allowed it
