(Body of the Letter)

Respected Director John Grant Fox,

I am writing to recommend Hugo Rodríguez, who is currently applying to the

Master's in Astrophysics and Planetary Studies at your institution.

I have known candidate Rodríguez since 2010, when he entered the undergraduate program in
Physical Engineering at the New York Technical Institute, where I was their Geophysics teacher. It was
it was precisely in those classes that I noticed a deep interest and dedication towards the world of
physics, particularly to astrophysical behavior.

In addition to the excellent results in his evaluations, Hugo stood out for the level of detail and the
determination with which he presented his dissertation on Methods for Achieving Energy
Solar, posing relevant questions for future research - such as the attraction of cells and
atoms by heavy bodies without natural light- and demonstrating an advanced knowledge in the
material, at a level similar to that of a Master's or Doctorate student.

The following year, I invited Hugo to be part of the research project in Mechanical Systems.
Lunar Environments, in association with renowned professors and graduate students from the Institute.
It was during this collaboration that I was able to confirm Hugo's unique skills related to
its methodology of work and interpretation of data under pressure, always suggesting new
methods to improve and simplify the results. After developing different models of
virtual vehicles in less than five days, Hugo initially validated the control system
implemented by him and immediately conjectured about the forces that affect the vehicle in its
lunar trajectory, which allowed for a significant advancement in the design of the final prototype, which had
in waiting status for more than two years.

Undoubtedly, if you accept Hugo, you will have a student who knows how to work hard.

fundamental to being a successful scientist. Therefore, I can assure that Hugo is already a scientist, the
younger than I have met, with a high potential to become one of the most respected in
our area.

Beyond this direct contact, I have also observed your commitment to other activities.
academic activities, including those with the Student Association and the Center for Physical Studies, to
introducing new students to the laboratories and promoting conferences. To better understand the
influence of Hugo on the popularity of these activities, I always give this example: before the year
2011, we did not receive students from other courses to participate in research projects of the
Physics Laboratory. Since that year, when Hugo began to collaborate with the association and the
center, more than 10 students from different courses such as Chemistry, Biotechnology and Sciences of the
Health, they started participating in the laboratory. Nowadays, more than 40 students use this.
space each week, something that goes beyond initial expectations, when the researchers
They worked with only 9 students and had monthly meetings.

Recently, one of these Biotechnology students who collaborates in the laboratory, me

he privately expressed his intention to switch to the undergraduate program in Physics. He told me that
his interest in the research being conducted in the laboratory encourages him to
dedicate full time to Physics, confessing that their fascination is inspired by dynamism
and the enthusiasm that Hugo injects into each project, becoming a natural leader and a role model to
follow.

That said, I can guarantee, with more certainty, that Hugo is the person that the Scientific University
from London is looking. With their knowledge and their willingness to work and learn more about
Astrophysics, it is feasible to say that he will be a successful student in his Master's degree and that he will contribute.
invaluable to research in astrophysics at your institution.

I am sure that the institutions through which Hugo passed during the course of his life and career,
they will be proud to have had him among their students.

Cordially,
