Talismanic Magic

By Brother U.D.
(Translated by Manon from the book High Magic)

Talismans, Amulets, and Fetishes

One of the oldest fields in the application of magic

practice is the making of talismans and amulets. The layman usually
use the terms 'talisman' and 'amulet' interchangeably, and
makes little to no distinction between the two. The modern magician is
different. The magician uses specific vocabulary to describe the art in
all aspects as precisely as possible, and therefore
distinguishes between several objects loaded according to their
corresponding functions. This is the reason for you to memorize the
following common definitions as well:

Talismans: Magically charged objects to fulfill a

specific purpose or to achieve a certain goal.

Amulets: Magically charged objects to prevent a

certain condition or situation.

Fetishes: Magically charged and activated objects to

store energies and in operations of magical influence.

Now let's take a look at these magical tools

individually. To summarize, a good way to describe them is
to say that talismans are 'for' something and amulets are for
to prevent something. For example, I could make a talisman for good luck.
health", carry an amulet "to prevent illness". A fetish,
on the other hand, it can assume both functions, but it is generally
used as a magic battery or psychogon, which we will discuss in
detail later.
In general, talismans, amulets, and fetishes can all
to be loaded with any type of energy, for all purposes, and
using any preferred technique that is convenient. But
we will use planetary magic (the energy of Venus) as our
first example to illustrate this.

The Talisman of Venus

A Venus talisman is an object charged with the energy of

Venus, which is used to achieve Venusian goals (model
energetic). Let us adhere to the most common correspondences
based on the Golden Dawn (and, in part, on much earlier sources
ancient). According to these, a talisman of Venus would ideally be
made of a piece of copper and engraved with the sigils of Venus. This
copper piece would then be ceremonially charged during a
Venus ritual. The Venus talisman should be heptagonal, and the
Records should be green. It should be done on Friday during the
hour governed by Venus.
During the loading, the wizard should usually enter a
Trance of Venus during a Venus ritual.
At the climax of the ritual, the talisman (already engraved and marked with,
for example, a sigil of a statement of intent) is loaded by
the wizard who spasmodically projects a green beam of light inside
from the base material (also called raw material or 'RM'), using
the own hands (which, of course, will only be done
imaginatively at first), and then drawing the glyphs
traditional Venus over him.
According to the usual procedure, the magician will concentrate
about the intended goal while loading it, although the contemporary
Chaos Magic recommends not thinking about the goal during the loading.
But good results can certainly be achieved with the method
traditional.
Once it is charged, the talisman is carried for a time.
about the body or always kept at hand. Another technique is to put it
in a safe place and forget it.

The Amulet of Venus

A Venus amulet is an object charged with energy from

Venus, which is used to prevent Venusian influences. Everything
what was said about the talisman of Venus also applies here, but

2
we need to add one important thing. Although the Venus amulet
(like all other types of amulets) primarily has a
negative meta (such as avoidance, prevention, blocking, and things
similar), the statement of intent must be formulated
positively when loaded (e.g., with a corresponding
sigil). For example, if you want to use a Venus amulet to
to prevent the breakup of a relationship, you shouldn't say 'This amulet is
to prevent my relationship with X from breaking apart, but rather

similar. In the field of magical warfare, the need for amulets is
makes it even clearer. After all, you could also protect the
relationship with X of external disturbances. And this fact is
exactly the reason why many authors even today
They confuse talismans with amulets.

The Venus Fetish

Experienced wizards could sharpen their ears when

listen to this term, as the ancient Western tradition never did so
mention. We are only familiar with fetishes in
connection with the so-called 'primitive' cultures, and the ethnologists

that are specifically loaded, to serve the wizard as
semi-autonomous entities. In contrast to the psychogenes, or
artificially created magical creatures that mainly work
about the astral plane, although they are tied to the material plane through
its physical consistency, an external fetish object is a true

needs to be fed, cared for and spoken to. This procedure
continuing really helps to load them in the first place. Some wizards
they inform that they can even develop a personality and
a life of its own through the course of time. For example, the activities

poltergeists could occur in their presence, or the fetish may
independently "take a trip" by oneself and reappear from
completely unexpected way (and just as inexplicably as
disappeared in unusual places.
Although fetishes are embodiments of certain powers,
rarely are they animated for very specific and personalized ones
purposes. In this sense, the fetishes for general healing are
common, but they are rarely created for the healing of a person
specific. Instead, they continue to live even after
the patient is cured, thus being able to help others. In this
In essence, the fetish is linked to a certain purpose, not to a certain person.
It can be compared to a common battery. A Venus fetish, for
for example, it would be comparable to a general talisman of Venus, or – even
better - to a pentacle of Venus. Like the pentacle, the fetish of
Venus could be used for all Venus operations, with the
intention to intensify energy without having to be physically present
presented or especially directed at the target. From now on, we
we will refer to the planetary fetishes as pentacles, and we will use the
general term for 'fetish' for all other tools
appropriately loaded.
In addition to the techniques already mentioned, a fetish is
usually animated with blood, sperm, menstrual blood, or
other bodily secretions of the wizard as well, and it is almost always
mentioned that it is made entirely by hand. Often
it will remind you of a human or animal, but there are also fetishes that are
completely abstract and have no recognizable shape. The fetishes

The fetish can be used to carry other objects, or to

generally used only by the wizard for himself (of course,
with the exception of loading it for a client). In practice, soon
you will understand the difference between these three categories of utensils
magical, and in the practical exercises at the end of this chapter
you will find more recommendations on how to work with these.

During a period of no more than seven months, carry seven.

in accordance with all the rules of the art you are familiar with.
It would be better to use metal sheets (since they are more durable)
that correspond to the appropriate planets and cut them with the
appropriate number of sides. Record the traditional planetary sigils
(Practical Sigil Magic) on the front, and the sigils of the
intelligence and planetary demons on the reverse. Using the principle
from the 'Kabbalah of the Nine Chambers' (Aiq Bekr; described in the manual
Practical Sigil Magic by Frater U.·.D.·.), designs a sigil for
represent your magical name and engrave it among the other two. Load
these talismans during a planetary ritual, or the corresponding one
number of planetary rituals (three times for Saturn, seven times
for Venus, nine times for the Moon, etc.), anoint them with the
corresponding planetary oils, and hold them in the smoke of the
planetary incense until you are satisfied with its charges.
Use these talismans for all planetary rituals by placing them
about the altar as the pantacle (what they really are, technically)
talking); you can also use them to charge other talismans or
planetary amulets, placing the object to be charged on top of them.

Practical Talismagic (II)

Get a ring of any type of metal and charge it for

seven separate planetary rituals, with the corresponding powers

using the Spare letters method; it's up to you if you record the
secrecy about the outside or the inside of the ring. You can even engrave the
ring with planetary sigils, set with corresponding precious stones,
and similar things - just use your imagination.

After the loading is complete, you should take the
ring daily for at least six months. This does not have to be
during the twenty-four hours of the day, which might not be possible, so
which is quite enough with a few hours. After that, wear this ring to
