Title: A Journey to Tomorrow

[Scene 1 – Schoolyard. Posters everywhere. Rhea hangs one.]

Rhea (cheerful):
“Happy Earth Day! Reduce. Reuse. Rejoice!”
Nice alliteration, right?

Dharam (snorts, crumpling a poster):

Yeah, real poetic.
Why save the Earth when I can save energy by not caring?

Rhea (picking up the paper):

Dharam, you always litter. You leave taps running and lights on.

Ricky (mocking):
Oh no! A tap running for 10 minutes. Alert the eco-police!
Chill, Rhea. One person doesn't make a difference.

Sadeevjot (entering calmly):

Oh, but they do.
In fact… Dharam, I think it’s time you saw just how much one person can affect the world.

Dharam (nervous):
Uhh… how?

Sadeevjot (smiling mysteriously):

Let’s take a little… educational field trip.
Hold still.

(She snaps her fingers. Lights dim. Dramatic WHOOSH sound.)

[Scene 2 – The Future. Trash everywhere. Dim, grey lighting. Enter Sidhant.]

Rhea (coughing):
Whoa. Where are we?
Sadeevjot:
This… is the year 2095.
This is what happens when too many people said “it’s just one juice box.”

Dharam:
It’s a wasteland. The air stinks.
Where are the trees? Where’s the sky?

Sidhant:
Gone.
Burned. Buried. Boiled.
Because I didn’t care.
Because you didn’t.

Dharam (staring, speechless):

Is this … the future?

Sidhant (bitter):
Yep. You had a chance.
But you wasted it — like everything else.
Now we wear masks just to breathe.
And kids learn about “trees” from history books.

There used to be trees here. They whispered in the wind. Now? The wind just screams.

Dharam (softly):
But I didn’t believe Earth Day mattered—

Sidhant (cutting him off):

Nice job, buddy.
You didn’t believe Earth Day mattered.
You believed humanity didn’t matter.
Guess what? You were wrong… and now we’re all paying for it.

You wanted air-conditioning? Now we live in one giant oven. You wanted convenience?
Now we drink bottled water made from melted plastic bags. If I could go back, I’d do
everything different. Just one choice. One recycled can. One planted tree. I’m stuck here…
But you’re not. Please. Don’t let me be real.
(Sadeevjot gently snaps her fingers again. WHOOSH. Lights shift.)

[Scene 3 – Back in the schoolyard.]

Dharam (looking around, emotional):

It’s still here… the trees… the air…
That was real, wasn’t it?

Sadeevjot (nodding):
As real as your choices.
You still have time, Dharam.

Dharam (sincerely):
Rhea… I’m sorry.
From now on — I recycle right.
And maybe even... compost?

Rhea (grinning):
Welcome back to Earth.

[Final Line – All Characters Face the Audience]
