Halftone Texture Overlay User Guide
1. Open or Import the Project
• Open the Halftone Halftone Texture Overlay.aep project in After Effects, or import it into your
existing project.
2. Choose the Right Composition
In the Project Panel, you will find two compositions:
• Halftone FX 4K (3840x2160)
• Halftone FX FHD (1920x1080 / 1080x1920)
Both versions are identical except for the format. Choose the one that best fits your project.
3. Apply the Overlay
1. Drag the chosen halftone composition onto your timeline, placing it above your footage.
2. Ensure that the resolution of your main composition matches the overlay composition.
4. Enable Collapse Transformations
• Select the overlay layer in the timeline.
• Click the Collapse Transformations button (the small sun icon in the layer switches) to properly
apply the effect.
5. Customize the Effect
You can edit the effect using two methods:
• Inside the Composition:
o Open the Halftone composition.
o Use the Customizer layer to adjust colors and other effects.
• Using Essential Properties (Recommended):
o On the timeline, expand the Essential Properties of the overlay layer to adjust colors,
intensity, and other visual elements without opening the composition.
