A Giving Christmas
Author: Anitha Selvanathan

Hi, I’m Alex. The month of December has come.
And we all are excited about the upcoming
Christmas on December 25. As a first step, we
have decorated the Christmas tree at home.
2/11
Christmas symbolizes the birth of baby Jesus in a
manger. So, we set up a crib like a manger near
the Christmas tree. The crib had dolls of Jesus,
Mary, Joseph, and the three kings.
3/11
Few days before Christmas, members of our
church came home and sang Christmas carols.
"Silent night, holy night. All is calm..." One of
them was dressed as Santa Claus and gave us
chocolates.
4/11
Dad asked me, ”Alex, What gift do you want for
Christmas?” I told him, “I want a red car-shaped
backpack.” Dad agreed.
5/11
Christmas day came with all its joy and
splendour. My dad said, "Alex. Here is the car-
shaped backpack you asked for." I was very
happy and told, "Thanks a lot, Dad."
6/11
Then, I remembered what my friend Jacob told
me once. "Alex, I love to have a car-shaped
backpack. But, my parents are poor and can't
buy me one."
7/11
I told Dad about Jacob. I said, "Dad, I have an
idea. Let us surprise Jacob on this Christmas
day." And then I told Dad about my plan.
8/11
As per my plan, Dad and I went to Jacob’s home.
I gifted my new red car-shaped backpack to
Jacob. Jacob was overjoyed, and he laughed
loudly. Jacob said, "Thank you so much, Alex."
9/11
My dad gave a large plum cake baked by my
mom to Jacob. Then dad and I returned home
happily.
10/11
The spirit of Christmas is to love, give, and share.
I was happy that this Christmas was a Giving
Christmas.
Merry Christmas to You!
