THE SUDAN PENTECOSTAL CHURCH REVIEWED CONSTITUTION

Article 1. Identity and Ownership.

I. Identity. The name of the denomination shall be. Redeemed Pentecostal Church (RPC)

herein after or which may from time to time be referred to in this Constitution and By-

Laws as RPC.

II. Ownership. This Constitution is owned by the local churches that are: self-propageting,

self-governing, self-supporting, self-theologizing, self-missioning and whose

representatives constitute the general Assembly. The general Assembly is the supreme

authority of the denomination whose members confess and believe in the Lord Jesus

Christ as their personal savior, and are filled with the Holy Spirit, endeavoring at all

times and under all circumstances to live to glorify God and be His witnesses.

III. The Headquarters of “The Redeemed Pentecostal Church” shall be in Juba. Details are in

the By-Laws.

Article 2. The Vision and Mission of SPC.

IV. Vision. A redeemed Sudan with strong mission minded local Churches and spiritually

inspired leadership.

V. Mission. To actively proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit

and to establish local Churches all over Sudan and beyond.

Article 3. The Values of SPC. SPC shall uphold these values:

I. Holy Spirit baptism of all believers.

II. Passion for salvation of souls.

III. Living and speaking the truth in love.


IV. Living in forgiveness, reconciliation, peace and solidarity.

V. Obedience to Jesus Christ, His call and service.

VI. Hard work.

VII. Living in openness, accountability, trust and respect.

VIII. Being disciplined in all things.

IX. Valuing humanity as made in the image of God.

X. Striving for justice and equality for all.

XI. Maintaining godly Christian family.

XII. Committed at all times and under all circumstances for the sake of God’s

Kingdom.

XIII. Living in the fear of God and Holiness.

XIV. Value biblical servant leadership model of leadership as demonstrated by Jesus

Christ.

Article 4. The Objectives of SPC.

I. To preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to all peoples in South Sudan and

beyond.

II. To establish mission focused local Churches who are Spirit filled, believe and obey the

whole biblical truth.

III. To provide sound biblical, doctrinal, theological training to all member Churches.

IV. To provide ministerial and theological training for those called by God for specific

ministries.

V. To establish and operate departments, ministries and institutions that fulfil the vision

and mission of the Church.


VI. To demonstrate and maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace among SPC

member Churches and other Churches of Jesus who are in line with the teachings of the

Scriptures.

VII. To alleviate poverty through hard work, educate the next generation, and

transform society through various biblical based developmental involvements at all

levels.

VIII. To encourage and engage member Churches in missions and evangelism.

Article 5. The Statement of Faith. The Sudan Pentecostal Church (SPC), believes:

I. In the Bible as the inspired Word of God ---that is the Bible (comprising 66 canonical

books), is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God and is the only rule for

Christian faith and conduct (2Timothy 3:16 – 17: 1Thessalnians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

II. There is one God, who is eternally self-existent, the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit

(John 1:1-5; 14:10-11; 2 Corinthians 13:14’ Col 1:15; Mathew 28:19-20)

III. In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Virgin Birth, His sinless life and miracles, His

vicarious and atoning death, His physical resurrection, His ascension to the right Hand

of the Father as our intercessor, His personal future return to earth in power and glory

to rule over the nations (Isaiah 9:6; Luke 24:4-9; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 1;18,

Hebrews 4:15).

IV. In the deity of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity who regenerates the

believer and enables him/her to live a holy life (Romans 8:1-17; 26-27;15:16;

2Thesslonians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:2).


V. That salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and is affected by

repentance from sin, resulting in regeneration by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:21; Acts

4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9).

VI. In water baptism by emersion for all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as

Lord and savior, as a testimony to the world of an inward work of God’s grace

symbolizing the burial of the old life and resurrection to new life in Christ (Acts 2:38-

39; 10:47-48; Romans 6:1-4).

VII. In the Lord’s super or Holy Communion for all who have accepted Jesus Christ as

their personal savior and Lord as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s death until He

comes again (1 Mathew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:20-34).

VIII. In the baptism in the Holy Spirit with outward initial evidence of speaking in

tongues and that this is to all believers who meet God’s conditions for receiving by

faith (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6).

IX. In the Gifts, Fruit, and manifestations of the Holy Spirit operating in the present day

Church as in Bible times as stated in the New Testament (1Corinthians 12; 14,

Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 4:7-16).

X. In divine healing through the atoning death of Christ on the Cross in an answer to the

prayer of faith (Exodus 15:26, Isaiah 53:5, Mathew 4:23, Mark 16:15-20, Acts 10:38; 1

Peter 2:24, James 5:13-15).

XI. In the bodily resurrection of all the dead; the saved to everlasting life and the unsaved

to everlasting punishment in hell (Mathew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15).

XII. We believe in the kingdom of God both as a present and a future reality (Matthew

12:20; Matthew 16:28).

Article 6. Membership.
I. Membership shall within the Sudan Pentecostal Church be composed of SPC planted

and established Churches and non-SPC planted Churches that have applied and

qualified to become SPC members.

II. The procedure for acquiring membership is provided for in the by-laws.

III. Membership shall be suspended by the national board of administration and revoked by

the General Assembly when a member church does not abide by this constitution and

its By-laws.

Article 7. The Structure of SPC.

I. The General Assembly.

II. The National Council composed of credible senior leaders of the denomination

III. The national board of administration.

IV. The National Departments, Ministries and institutions.

V. The Area Assemblies

VI. The Area Board Administrations.

VII. The Area Departments, Ministries and Institutions.

VIII. The Local Church Assemblies.

IX. The Local Church Board of Elders.

X. The Local Church Board of Deacons.

XI. The Local Church Departments, Ministries and Institutions.

Article 8. The General Assembly.

The composition of the General Assembly. The General Assembly shall consist of:

I. Representatives of the national council.

II. All the members of the SPC board of Administration.


III. The National heads of Departments.

IV. Representatives of the areas and their local Churches.

V. Observers (Partners).

2. The Duties and Powers of the General Assembly:

I. Is the highest power of the Sudan Pentecostal Church when in session.

II. Confirms the minutes of the previous meeting.

III. The General assembly appoints the members of the National Council.

IV. Nominates and elects the six officers of the NBOA, that is to say; the General

Overseer, the General Secretary, the General treasurer and their deputies.

V. Ratifies and endorses the reports, plans, policies, budget and programs of the NBOA.

VI. Is the final authority in resolving controversial issues that are beyond the powers of the

NBOA.

VII. Upon recommendation of the NBOA, discipline or dismiss any member Area that

fails to abide by this constitution and by-laws of the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

VIII. In an event of misconduct of a member or members of the Secretariat, the

remaining board members should call for an emergency meeting and report the issue

to the national council.

IX. The national council may examine the issue and where necessary, take disciplinary

measures (suspend) his/her duties while awaiting the General Assembly.

X. Has power to amend the Constitution whenever necessary as provided for in article 29.

XI. Constitutes fact finding committees or other standing or temporary committees as it

deems necessary for the fulfilment of the mission and purposes of the church.

XII. Revises the published Agenda of the General Assembly as it deems necessary.
XIII. The General Assembly shall select some members of the council to advise and

oversee the board of Administration during their term of office (details are in by-laws).

XIV. The general Assembly is the sole owner of all assets of the denomination.

Article 9. The National Council.

The National Council is the advisory and overseeing body of the denomination.

The Composition of the National Council.

The members of the Council shall be credible senior leaders of (SPC) who members of the

functioning board of administration are currently not. The number of members is specified in the

by-laws.

Duties and Powers. The National Council Shall:

I. Oversee the spiritual, administrative and the relational affairs of the denomination.

II. Advise the National board of administration.

III. Receive and Prayerfully scrutinize applications of those who feel called to serve in the

positions of the secretariat of the National board of administration (The General

overseer, General Secretary, General Treasurer and their respective deputies) and

forward the suitable and short-listed candidates to the General Assembly when in

session (details are in the by-laws).

IV. Encourage those the council observe suitable to apply in case of fewer applications.

V. Suspend, any member of the National Council in the event of gross misconduct and

report to the General Assembly when in session.

VI. Suspend any member of the board of administration in the event of gross misconduct

and report to the General Assembly when in session.


Article 10. The National Board of Administration

The National Board of Administration shall be the administrative body of the Sudan Pentecostal

Churches.

1. The Composition of the National Board.

I. The National Board of Administration shall consist of the six members of the secretariat

elected by the General Assembly.

II Nine area overseers excluding potential areas.

VI. When the number of the areas increase to more than nine, then we shall resort to regional

representation.

2. Duties and Powers. The National Board of Administration Shall:

I. Plan the agenda and establish venue, schedule and budget for the general

assembly.

Present to the general assembly reports on its activities, assets, plans, programs and

financial status (including an audited financial report and a proposed annual budget for

the SPC).

II. Implement policies, decision and plans which are passed by the general assembly

and arrange funding for the same.

III. Form temporary committees for the specific tasks as needs arises.

IV. Represent the denomination before other church bodies, mission organizations

and the civil authorities.

V. Oversee elections of area boards as provided in the by-laws.


VI. Approve and carry out ordination of ministers as recommended by Area Board

and Local Churches, according to the procedures and standard laid down in the

by-Laws.

VII. Report the National Council any member of the National Board whose conduct is

contrary to biblical principles.

VIII. Be responsible as trustees for the assets and funds of the Denomination.

IX. Invite other individuals, including heads of Institutions and National Project

Coordinators to attend their meetings to report on their activities and to make

recommendations for action to the effect of their specific ministry responsibilities.

Duties of the members of the National Board of Administration.

The General Overseer. The General Overseer shall:

I. Have pastoral oversight over the secretariat and the area overseers seeking to promote

their spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing; endeavoring to move them forward in

God’s plan for their individual lives and ministries.

II. As the General overseer of the Denomination, endeavor to visit and minister

periodically and regularly in every area board.

III. Be the Chief Executive Officer of the Sudan Church with the duty to lead the.

Denomination according to its vision mission as embodied in this constitution, as

decided upon by the General Assembly, and as implemented by the Board of A

administration.

IV. Be the Presiding Officer over all meetings of the General Assembly, the Board of

Administration, and other official church meetings on the National level.

V. Be the official spokesperson for the Sudan Pentecostal Church.


VI. Officiate at ceremonies for the Ordination of Pastors who have been proposed by the

local churches and duly approved by the Area Board of Administration in accordance to

the By-Laws of this constitution.

VII. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

VIII. Be a signatory of the Denomination’s Bank accounts.

The Deputy General Overseer shall:

I. Have oversight over all SPC Institutions.

II. Serve as one of the Trustees of all SPC Assets.

III. Assist the General overseer and act in the event of his absence

IV. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the General Overseer or the Board of

Administration.

The General Secretary shall:

I. Coordinate all the activities of the Denomination all over the country and be the general

administrator of the Denomination.

II. Correspond, consult and meet with the civil authorities, church bodies, national and

international Agencies, provided the other members of the Board of the Administration

are regularly informed.

III.Have oversight and ensure that the record and distribution of the minutes of all

meetings: The General Assembly, the National Board of Administration and the

secretariat are done in a timely and professional manner.

IV. Ensure the official files of SPC are in a professional, orderly and secure manner.

V. Communicate to the decisions of the NBOA and the General Assembly to the Area

Overseers.
VI. Be one of Trustees of the Assets of SPC.

VII. Be a signatory of the Denomination’s Bank accounts.

VIII. Coordinate plans for the General Assembly and meetings for the National Board

of Administration; arrange agenda, dates and venue under the direction of the NBOA.

The Deputy General Secretary shall:

I. Have oversight over all departments and projects of SPC.

II. Be responsible to record and distribute minutes of all meeting; of the General Assembly

and the Board of Administration in a timely and professional manner.

III. Maintain the official files of SPC in a professional, orderly and secure manner.

IV. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of the SPC.

V. Assist the General Secretary and act in the event of their absence.

VI. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the General secretary or board of

Administration.

The General Treasurer shall:

I. Be the Chief Financial Officer of the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

II. Have oversight over the receipt, safe-keeping, and the proper distribution of all

contributions from ministers, member Churches, Area Treasurers, Partner Agencies,

and all other sources under the direction of the General Treasurer in keeping with the

policies of the NBOA. (Audited reports need to be availed during General

Assemblies). Any member of the board who receives a donation for SPC must hand it

to the SPC Treasurer for accountability.

III. Oversee the maintenance of all accounts and other financial holdings of the

denomination.
IV. Be responsible for the preparation of the annual budget of the Sudan Pentecostal

Church in consultation with the other members of the national board of Administration.

V. Arrange for an annual audit of all accounts of the Sudan Pentecostal Church by a

recognized auditor in accordance with other the directive of the Board of

Administration.

VI. Present a financial report annually to the board of administration and to the General at

its regular meetings.

VII. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of SPC.

VIII. Be a signatory of the Denomination’s Bank accounts.

Deputy General Treasurer Shall:

I. Be responsible for the receipt, safe-keeping, and proper distribution of all

contributions from ministers, member churches, Area Treasurers, Partner Agencies

and all other sources under the direction of the General Treasurer in keeping with the

policies of the NBOA.

II. Be responsible to review and officially acknowledge the receipt of financial

compliance reports from Area Treasurers and to compile an annual financial

compliance report for the NBOA.

III. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of SPC.

IV. Assist the General Treasurer and act in the event of his/her absence.

Article 11. The Area Assembly.

1. The Area Assembly is an administrative organ of the Sudan Pentecostal Church in a

given geographical Area as defined by the SPC according to the guidelines laid

down in the by-laws.


2. Duties and Powers. The Area Assembly shall:

I. Be the highest power in the Area of SPC when in session and confirm the minutes of

the previous meeting.

II. Nominate and elect the officers and other members of the Area Board under the

supervision of SPC.

III. Ratify and endorse the reports, plans, policies, budget and programs of the Area board.

IV. Constitute any standing or temporary committees within the area that local conditions

may require.

V. Revise the agenda of the Area Assembly as it deems necessary.

VI. Disciple and suspend any Area Board member whose conduct is contrary to biblical

principles.

VII. Suspend and discipline any local church in the Area that does not abide by this

constitution and by-laws and report to the NBOA.

VIII. Dissolve the Area Board when its duties are not unsatisfactory to the Area

Assembly.

Article 12. The Area Board of Administration.

The Area board of Administration is the official administrative organ of the Area

Assembly. It shall be elected by the Area Assembly and shall serve for a period of five (5)

years.

1. The Composition of the Area Board of Administration. The Area Board shall consist

of: the Area overseer, Area Secretary, Area Treasurer, their deputies and (5) other

members.

2. Duties and Powers. The Area Board of Administration shall:


I. Ensure the vision, mission and policies of SPC are implemented in the Area.

II. Render reports on the programs and finances of the Area to the Area Assembly.

III. Render periodic reports of the Area to the NBOA.

IV. Administer and oversee the functions of the local churches in the Area.

V. Form Temporary committees as need arises.

VI. Suspend, investigate and report to the Area Assembly any member of the Area Board

of Administration whose conduct is contrary to biblical principles.

VII. Discipline any local church minister suspended by the local church in the Area.

The Duties and Powers of the members of the Area Board of Administration.

The Area Overseer. The area Overseer shall:

I. Have pastoral oversight over the local church pastors in the Area, seeking to promote

their spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing; endeavoring to move them forward

in God’s plan for their individual lives and ministries.

II. As the Area overseer, endeavor to visit and minister periodically and regularly in

every local church in the Area.

III. Guide and lead the Area in implementing the SPC Constitution, By-laws, policies

decisions, Vision and Mission in the Area.

IV. Be the official spokesperson before civil authorities, other Church Denominations,

NGOs, other Agencies, or key Persons in the Area.

V. Preside over all meetings of the Area Board.

VI. Be one of the Trustees of the SPC Assets in the Area.

VII. Be one of the signatories to the Area Board Bank Accounts.

The Deputy Area Overseer. The Deputy Area Overseer shall:

I. Have oversight over all SPC Institutions in the Area.


II. Serve as one of the Trustees of all SPC Assets in the Area.

III. Assist the Area overseer and act in the event of his absence.

IV. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Area Overseer or the Area

Board of Administration.

The Area Secretary shall:

I. Coordinate all the activities of the Area and be the general administrator of the

Area.

and international Agencies, provided the other members of the Area Board of the

Administration are regularly informed.

Administration; arrange agendas, dates and venue under the direction of the Area

Board Administration.

The Deputy Area Secretary shall:

I. Have oversight over all departments and projects of SPC in the Area.
II. Be responsible to record and distribute minutes of all meeting; of the Area Assembly

and the Area Board of Administration in a timely and professional manner.

III. Maintain the official files of the Area in a professional, orderly and secure manner.

IV. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of the SPC in the Area.

V. Assist the Area Secretary and act in the event of His absence.

VI. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Area secretary or board of

Administration.

The Area Treasurer Shall:

I. Be the Chief Financial Officer of the Area.

II. Have oversight over the receipt, safe-keeping, and the proper distribution of all

contributions from ministers, local churches, Partner Agencies, and all other sources

under the direction of the Area Treasurer in keeping with the policies of the Area

Board of Administration.

III. Oversee the maintenance of all accounts and other financial holdings of the Area

IV. Be responsible for the preparation of the annual budget of the Area in consultation

with the Area board of Administration and the local churches in the Area.

V. Arrange for an annual audit of all accounts of the Area Accounts by a recognized

auditor in accordance with the directives of the Area Board of Administration.

VI. Present a financial report annually to the Area board of administration and to the Area

General Assembly when in session.

VII. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of SPC in the Area.

VIII. Be one of the signatories of the Area Bank accounts.

The Deputy Area Treasurer Shall:


I. Be responsible for the receipt, safe-keeping, and proper distribution of all

contributions from ministers, Local churches, Partner Agencies and all other sources

under the direction of the Area Treasurer in keeping with the policies of the Area

Board of Administration.

II. Be responsible to review and officially acknowledge the receipt of financial

compliance reports from local church Treasures and to compile an annual financial

compliance report for the Area Board of Administration.

III. Serve as one of the Trustees of all assets of SPC in the area.

IV. Assist the Area Treasurer and act in the event of his absence.

Article 13. The Local church.

Composition of the Local Church. The local church shall be composed of:

I. Registered members.

II. Pastor (s).

III. Elders.

IV. Deacons.

The Functions of the Local Church. The Local Church exists to carry out the following

three functions:

I. To worship God in the spirit and the truth.

II. To edify herself towards Christ-likeness.

III. To reach out to the world through evangelism and missions.


Article 15. The Local Church Board of Administration.

The local Church board of Administration is the official administrative organ of the Local

Church Assembly (Registered members).

The emergency of local church leaders.

I. The pioneering Evangelist who planted the new local church shall identify and propose the

leaders within the new fellowship and present them to the members to affirm them as the

leaders of the newly founded local church. Local church leaders (elders and decons), shall

not be voted to serve in their callings in the local church.

II. A Pastor may be assigned to an already existing church.

III. An elder with a recognized pastoral call may be identified by the other elders of the local

church, be presented to the church members and be ordained to serve as pastor in the local

church.

IV. An operating local church that needs more elders and deacons may be identify mature

believers in the local church who have the calling of elders for ordination and service in the

local church.

Duties and powers of elders.

I. The board of elders shall be the core administrative organ and spiritual guardian of the

local church.

II. The pastor shall oversee the spiritual affairs of the local church and shall preside over

all local church affairs.


III. The other members of the local board of administration shall work together with the

pastor in the spiritual and administrative guidance of the local church. The details of the

functions of the pastor and elders are provided for in the by-laws.

IV. Elders and deacons board may have a combined meeting once in a while.

Duties and powers of the deacons.

I. Deal with the practical services of the local church.

II. Distribution of material things to the needy.

III. Assist Pastors the pastors and elders in the work of the church.

IV. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the board of elders.

Local church Departments/projects.

The departments and projects are part of specific assignments concerning the local in fulfilling

its mission. The details of their functions are in the policy guidelines prepared by the local

church board of elders. These are organized and specified units of the local church tailored to

meet specific needs of the mission of the local church.

Article 15. Assets of the Denomination.

I. All properties and buildings, movable and immovable shall be registered and held in

trust in the name of the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

II. Official copies of all title deeds and property contracts shall be held in the office of

the General secretary with notations as to the location of the original documents.

III. Add to duties of area board.


IV. No movable or immovable property, (items, land or structures) may be disposed of

exempt in accordance with relevant provision of the By-laws.

Article 17. Meetings of the denomination.

I. The General Assembly shall meet between the second and third year and the date and

venue shall be announced by the NBOA at least six months in advance.

II. The National Board of Administration shall meet on a regular schedule twice each year

and more often as may be required.

III. The Area Assemblies shall meet at least once each year and the date and venue shall be

announced by the ABOA at least six months in advance.

IV. The area Board of Administration shall meet every three months or more often as may be

required.

V. Local Church Membership meetings shall be held twice a year.

VI. Local Church Board meetings shall meet at least once each month, or more often as may

be required.

(The committee reviewing this constitution shall present this draft to all the SPC area

overseers before the general assembly).

Article 18. Finances of The Sudan Pentecostal Church.

The goal of the Sudan Pentecostal Church is to be truly indigenous; that is to be self-supporting

in its approach to its mission and vision. In order to be truly indigenous, we shall seek to trust

God in all our spiritual, physical and financial needs.

1. Sources of Finances-we shall rely on the following:


I. Tithes – We believe that God has an economic plan for His

Church and it is clearly presented in His word. His plan is that

every believer shall bring into the church a tenth of his or her

income, whether it is form of cash or in kind (produce or

livestock). Every member of the Sudan Pentecostal Church is

required to be honest, generous, and faithful with his or her

tithe. The By-Laws shall establish a structure for the handling

of the tithe of ministers of the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

II. Offerings – Every believer shall be encouraged to practice generosity in offerings to

special needs that may arise within the church.

III. Local contributions, fund raising, income generating projects – Churches shall be

encouraged to seek ways to enable the people of their communities to support

themselves and the work of the Lord.

IV. Grants and Donations–Boards and local churches may seek outside support for

development projects within guidelines provided in the By- Laws.

2. Administration of SPC Finances.

I. The local church shall give a set percentage of its total income to the support

of the operations of ABOA and NBOA. The details are in the by-laws.

II. Each credentialed minister of the SPC shall give their full and complete tithe

(a minimum of 10% of the person’s total income) at his or her local church.

Article 19. Elections.

I. The Area and General Assembly shall elect the board members every five years.
II. Electoral committees.

III. A committee of non-voting persons shall be designated to oversee national level

elections.

IV. The NBOA shall designate several of its members to oversee Area level elections and

they may call upon persons not nominated to assist in the counting of ballots.

V. Area Assembly elections shall come two years before the general assembly for the

purpose of continuity.

VI. The details for elections are provided for in the by-laws.

Article 20. Terms of Office.

I. The term of office for the each of the newly elected board members shall be five years.

Each elected official may be re-elected for one more term of office and serve for another

five years. After this, they may break but become eligible for elections again after a five

years break. No board member shall serve in the same office consecutively for more than

ten years.

II. The newly elected National board of Administration members and Area board members

shall be dedicated immediately in a special Sunday service immediately following the

elections. All the details of the dedication ceremony are provided for in the by—Laws.

III. Out-going officers shall be given due honor and recognition for their service to the Sudan

Pentecostal church details of continuation of out-going officers are in the by-laws.

Article. 21. Church Discipline.


I. Church discipline shall aim at the correction, restoration and redemption of the errant

believer (Mathew 18:15-17, 1 Corinthians 5:1-8). It is applicable to all members and

leaders of the Sudan Pentecostal Church. The procedures are provided for in the by-laws.

II. The rules of discipline shall apply to every individual member and adhehrent of every

congregation of the Sudan Pentecostal Church.

III. The rules of discipline shall apply to every leader in every position within the Sudan

Pentecostal Church.

IV. The procedures for discipline are provided for in the by-laws.

Article 22. Church Ministries and Departments.

I. The ministries and departments of the Church shall focus the ministry of the church to

specific people groups within the church and the community. Therefore, the

establishment of departments and ministries that address the needs of the people such as:

children, youth, women, men, relief and development, education, theological training,

evangelism, missions, media, health and others as needs may arise.

II. These departmental divisions shall be established at all levels; local church, area board

and the national where the needs exist.

III. All heads of departments may participate in the Assemblies at their relevant level.

IV. The procedures for the development of ministries and departments are provided for in the

by-laws.

Article 23. Ordination.


The Sudan Pentecostal church believes and recognizes that the gifts of the Holy Spirit for

ministerial service are given to both men and women in the present time in the church.

Therefore, the Church shall such gifts by ordaining those that have them to the areas of their

calling. Details and procedures for the ordination are in the by-laws.

Article 24. Biblical Christian Marriage.

1. The Wedding of Couples.

Marriage shall be between a man and a woman who are both born again believers. The

details are in the by-laws.

2. Marriage Blessing.

Marriage blessing is for any born-again couple (a man and a woman) who got married while they

were still not born again. The details are in the by-laws.

3. The Wedding of Widows and Widowers.

Widowers and widows are allowed to marry the born-again Christian of their choice whom they

feel God is leading them to marry.

4. Marriage of Divorced Persons.

The marriage of divorced persons shall be approached case-by-case. The details are in the by-

laws.

5. Polygamous Married believers.

Polygamous believers shall not have marriage blessing.

THE REEDEEMED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH BY-LAWS.


The purpose of these By-Laws is to provide clarification and amplification for specific articles

of the Constitution of the Redeemed Pentecostal Church and it should be read in conjunction

with that document.

Identity and Ownership. The Redeemed Pentecostal Church is the former Sudan Pentecostal

Church. Therefore, all assets, movable and immovable of the former SPC are now assets of

Redeemed Pentecostal Church (RPC).

The headquarters of Redeemed Pentecostal Church shall be in Juba.
