DIR. EDUARDO L. LAPUZ, JR.
Regional Executive Director
Department of Agriculture – Region III
City of San Fernando, Pampanga
Dear Director Lapuz,
Greetings of peace and solidarity!
On behalf of the farming community of San Simon, Pampanga, I respectfully write to
seek your kind assistance and intervention following the recent flooding that devastated our
municipality due to the heavy rains brought about by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon and
successive typhoons.
A total of 1,000 farmers from eight (8) barangays were severely affected, with an
estimated 1,692.85 hectares of agricultural land submerged and destroyed. Initial damage
assessments place losses in crops and farm productivity at approximately Seventy-Six Million
Pesos (₱76,000,000.00).
Our farmers, who are among the most vulnerable sectors in our community, are now
struggling to recover and resume their livelihood. In light of this, we earnestly appeal for
financial assistance or recovery support, palay seeds, assorted vegetable seeds, and
vegetable gardening tools from your good office. Any aid extended—whether in the form of
financial relief, seed and input subsidies, or rehabilitation programs—will go a long way in
helping our farmers rebuild their lives and secure food production for our locality.
We trust in your compassion and unwavering commitment to the welfare of our farmers
and the agricultural sector. Rest assured that any assistance will be efficiently channeled and
properly documented by the Municipal Agriculture Office.
Thank you for your continued support to our municipality. We look forward to your
favorable response.
Respectfully yours,
HON. ABUNDIO S. PUNSALAN, JR.
Municipal Mayor
San Simon, Pampanga
